ROM Hack E File and XBB File Extensions

Hello all. I'm hoping someone could point me to a tool that can extract and repack the file extensions mentioned in the thread title. I'm under the impression that these files hold text data for the game's story and NPC dialog that I would like to translate from Japanese to English. I can open these in Notepad++, but I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking at within the code.

I appreciate any help or info someone is willing to share with me. I'm happy to provide more info if needed. Thanks!

XBB files are archives that can be opened using Karameru (Forum|Download). They can hold any type of files.

Old thread, old news, but for future readers:
E files are gzip-compressed binary files that store several scripts, where some scripts store texts to display on screen. The texts can be edited using BinJ Editor. More information on the file format can be found in the Wiki: E Format.
