Someone in the USB 2.0 thread told me that backup loading with DVD-RW's using WiiGator's GC launcher is possible. Is this true?

Last time I tried DVD-RW's I got all kinds of errors, but this was on 0.1 Beta of the Wii Launcher.

I thought you had to have a modchip for RWs to be read. Can anyone clarify this?

DVD-RW suck on Wii. They could work, but they are bad format for the Wii.

    Just stick with DVD-Rs

I believe that the dvd-rw disc's don't reflect as well as the dvd-r's and the wii laser has a harder time reading them. They may work, but most people seem to get disc read errors with them.

    It's a hidden message [IMG].

Anyhoo, yes they work, even on Wii Backups (Yes, that is abesolutely true). But reliable? Don't think so.

Also, you need a chip to play non-booktyped +R and +RW backups

I use Imation DVD-RW 4X and they work quite well for me. Of course that's with a modchip and not a softie.

I have burned a few brick fix discs (wad manager, etc) on DVD+R's and they work fine...all the time.
