I solved it. I removed the duke.rts and copied only the grp file. Works. Sorry and thank you!

Quite weird. If there are external .CON files that come with Atomic Edition, can you try also copying them to the folder then?

Yes, I copied the con file, too!

@fgsfds Any chance we can get recompiled Ion Fury? Controls broke after AMS 0.10.2 release.
@cpasjuste And pretty much all of your homebrew needs to be recompiled, too: pNES, pSNES, REminiscense, probably something else I don't use.
Pretty please.

Can Six-axis be implemented as mouse control? I would like that because is the nearest thing similar to a mouse

Ion fury works well on latest atmos with latest release of eduke32 on his github. An upstreamed version would be nice however because in current one there is a game breaking bug in E1L4 of Duke nukem 3d

I thought a standalone executable is needed for it, that's what I have but it's outdated. There is an option for compiling it.
So, I just have to change eduke32 config to run it or something?

You just make a separate folder and put the FURY.GRP, FURY.GRPINFO and FURY.DEF files there, then put eduke32.nro in. It's a bit confusing because it's gonna have the same icon, which is half the point of having a separate IF build.

I'm totally new to homebrew on the Switch. What do I need to do, in totallity, to play eduke3d on my switch? Do I need CFW? Do I need a homebrew launcher? Can I use it as is with modding my Switch? Does it work on 9.1.0?

Yes youll need to use a cfw. Whichever one suits you. When you boot that up you'll have access to the homebrew menu where you can play eduke32. There's loads of tutorials on this site about setting cfw up.

You can use atmosphere, Reinx or TX OS (homebrew access is free, access to pirated switch games costs money)

Hello, I am experiencing the game breaking bug in E1M4 where the second shrink ray does not work. I would really love to play all the way through Duke 3D on my switch and this is a major bummer.

Can anyone compile 8040 with the latest libnx as I have heard this version does not have the issue. I am on 9.1.0 so the joycons do not work with the available compiled version.

I have been trying for hours with devkitpro but unfortunately I am a major noob and could not figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if someone could tell me how to compile it myself using the latest libnx.

The source code for 8040 is on fgsfds github page.

Hi it's me again, I suppose you understood that duke nukem 3d it's one of my all-time favorite games. In latest release of eduke32 (r8093) there is a game breaking bug in E1L4 Toxic Dump that make impossible to go ahead and finish the level. To go ahead I had to rollback to 8040 build. Looked at svn and seems that it was fixed in r8117. Now since the r8040 build doesn't use latest libnx it's not long-term supportable for the future we'll need a rebuilt r8040 with latest libnx or if it is possible an update >r8117. @fgsfds and @parkerlreed What do you think?

Hey, after having the same issue I asked my tech savvy friend to have a look and he was able to build 8040 with libnx 2.5.0 which fixes the shrink ray bug in toxic dump and allows joycons to work in 9.0.0+. I have confirmed both of these to be working myself.

He also built it with libnx 3 but we found that to be a little buggy, so it seems the libnx 2.5.0 build is the best version.

Anyway here is the .nro, simply use this to replace eduke32.nro in fgsfds 8040 build on github and enjoy!

EDIT: I have uploaded everything you need in one file to mega, just add your own DUKE3D.GRP and DUKE3D.RTS files.

Not working at my 9.1.0 AMS 0.10.2
Weird, it is working for me just fine. 9.1.0 AMS 0.10.2 emunand. Played for hours last night opening and closing multiple times and verified that I am using the exact same nro that I uploaded.

Did you use my nro in place of eduke32.nro in fgsfds r8040_1 on github?

What version of Duke 3D are you using? I am using the the steam 20th anniversary edition.

Are you using hblauncher in applet mode or forwarded mode?

EDIT: I have uploaded a 'ready to go' version to mega. Check my above post for the link.
