Hacking DSTWO not showing on 3ds...

I wanted to redo my emunand completely so I would have a backup of my sysnand but I pop in a new SD card then I try and get into the gateway menu but it doesn't load even when holding L it just slams me back to the main menu has says an error has ocurred and needs to restart, so I think well maybe I need to redo my MSET exploit. I shove in my DStwo and its not being read for some reason... Not even showing up as inserted.

Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure that you have to update it from the gateway menu inside the DSTWO. But you have to do it from another ds, like a dsi.
