Hacking DSTT Save Files

I have been using an M3 Simply for 6mths and thought i read on here that the save files were same as on DSTT so thought i would give one of those a try.I ordered one with 4gb card and dragged all my files over from my old 2gb card and start it up but it creates new save files for the games so previous progress is lost.Have i done somthing wrong or was what i read wrong about using M3 saves?

i moved my zelda save over from my ez-flash 4 & moved some others from my scdsone they would not work until i changed the save extension from

.SAV to .sav

Rename the save file so the ".SAV" extension is lowercase.
