How Do you Know Or What Are The Symptoms That Your Card Is Affected By Fake killer..
And Is There A way To Revive Your DSTT That Been Killed By Fake Killer??

It will display "FAKE" when you use it with a fake DSTT.



Fake killer is disabled in all inofficial DSTT firmwares (Rudolph & Retrogamefan).

Some people said it will somehow cause truble with the micro SD (extra fragementation / delete some clusters).

But I'm not sure if that's true. I think it does nothing. But I don't know that for sure.

Edit: Actually it does something: You can never update a fake DSTTi (1.4 & 1.4.1), since it's combined with the Fake Check.

then why do people hate it more then the r4 even though its better?

The GUI is not so nice. That's really a problem, even with YSMenu.

And a lot of people only know DSTT as a cheap, annoying card.

They don't know that it was much better than R4 at that time. It had SDHC support just like CycloDS!

It's like Pepsi and Coke. Pepsi is better. But Coke is bigger.

Yes thats what it does when its killed by official firmware... you need to reflash it using a working flashcart to boot the homebrew.

When the dstt is killed it wont even get passed booting the menu.

Ive Tried the Dstt Recovery and it says that my card cannot be recovered..by the way thanx for the reply..

will the 6.42 firmware kill a card. I was woundering because i have had some trouble out of a few of my dstt cards running 6.4 and 6.42. everything boots but when i attempt to load a game the little square in the bottom left of the screen will freeze. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you too anyone who helps. Please PM me responses

what a load of bollocks.
I'd be pissed if i loaded the official firmware on my card that i believe to be genuine, and it irreversibly damages my hardware.
There is no warning whatsoever, imho those guys are worse then the kid that wrote the NDSBricker.

Seriously, imagine the following scenario.
You're new to the flashcard scene, and you bought a DSTT from a page that seems legit to you, and you pay your 60$ or whatever for it.
you get the card in the mail, you go to the official DSTT website and download the latest official firmware. You put it on your card, turn it on, and your card instantly becomes garbage.
If that is not a straight up malicious act as well as an insult to everybody that tries to buy a DSTT then i don't even know.

That is like i bring my fake rolex to a rolex certified repair shop, and upon giving them my fake rolex he tells me it's fake and smashes it with a hammer. WTF man.

I wanted to own one of every flash card for experimental purposes, but i think i will skip the DSTT completely, after seeing how their team treats people that decide to buy a product with their name on it (genuine or not).
Most people won't even know they bought a fake until they run into problems. And DSTT's support is to destroy your card, so you can go buy the real one. Thank you for nothing.
