I'm having issues with getting my DSTT to boot up. Recently it's started taking a lot of tries. Today I went and cleaned both the Slot 1 of the DS AND all the contacts in the TT, but it still doesn't boot right up.

Do I need to update the firmware? Remove some games? Or am I just screwed?

Where are you encountering problems? Is your system booting to the default DS home menu as if no cart was present, or are you hanging up on the DSTT loading screen?

In the first case, the most likely issue is just a poor connection. The DSTT and clones often have trouble with the edge connector in the DS - they're slightly thinner than a real cart, and as they wear physically with use, the contacts exert less pressure against each other. Putting a spacer between the front of the cart and the circuit board can be helpful - I have a few layers of paper inside mine to help press the contacts in the cart against the contacts in the DS, and it still sometimes requires a few insertions to get a working connection.

It's the first one, it just doesn't load up at all.

It seems like using a spacer made out of index card did work though, I'll keep trying that.

...Or not.

I put in a bunch of paper to push the contacts as far as they could go without modifying the casing itself, and yet I still can't get it to boot to the TT menu.

Blow it hard before putting it. Then try
