Quick Q: does anyone know how to update a previously configured DSO without losing the config? I'm tired of re-setting everything every time I update =/

A little-known, rarely-advertised, and yet intentional feature of DSO is to allow you to use old config files. It will automatically add in any new entries to it if it needs to.

leinad: STOP COMPLAINING ! If you really care THAT MUCH about the speed and stuff like this disable DLDI, DISK WRITING and images in the config.ini file.

- Nevermind, this part was way too harsh

sorry dude -

Anyway, maybe the older browser was faster because it had no images enabled or did render the stuff else than the current one does ?

... It needs more time to check & delete browser cache than starting my computer :x (lol which is over 1~2Minutes...) ...
Dunno exactly why, I think there is an error in the File Listening Patch of the N-Card ~
But it would be the best, if it could be implemented an option, to delete cache by yaself, so not automaticaly on entering&leaving everytime

And to disable writing just because of the browser would be idiotic x)
there would be too many functions missing without writing

DSO is the best homebrew IMO~ Im just sad that it slowed down because an feature, which I don't need...

Im surfing without images~
No- It's very nice during surfing, just to start or close the browser takes very much time~
It started since auto-delete of cache has been implemented. (which was the first version in which changes for the web-browser had started.)

Downloading in the web browser supported? Sweet

Better back up your cards though, there is always a risk in card corruption when it comes to things like that

no card corruption since upgrade (I even downloaded alot of stuff with DSO!)

leinad: The browser takes long to start up ? I delete the whole cache directory after each surf session so it does not have to clear the cache each time.

@mike1984 one of the email apps added SSL the other day which should do for a good chunk of web based email (I think it was posted in the news section), anyhow for the future you will tend to find that on the DS general purpose apps will not be as good as the dedicated stuff.
