The Supercard team has updated their OS to SP8 to fix a bug of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Day! And also a step to a better user interface. =)

Is it really faster? Or shouldn't I bother downloading it?

EDIT: CRAP! Not exactly blazing fast, but whoa, it's actually smooth and useable now! [IMG]

I can honestly say, the speed has been improved by at least 3 times. I may be wrong however since I haven't used my SCDS1 in a while.

As soon as I get more time I'll put this on the frontpage [IMG]

Noitora: It really is faster, not perfect but a really good improvement.

Meh, never found that to be so much of an issue.

It's not something to avoid the DSOne for, even though if they fix it it'd would be even more awesomer [IMG]

Doesn't look like this fixes Kingdom Hearts still black screens for me. It is alot quicker but still slow and buggy.

I've copied my *.sav files directly from my slot-2 Supercard and most of them worked fine. I'm working on getting the rest to work with long filenames.

The problem arises with series of more than 4 games with the same name such as Pokemon or Spyro. The first 4 games are appended 1, 2, 3 and 4 to their names while the rest are appended a hash from the ROM's CRC16. If you add games in the future and at some point backup, format, and restore, the first 4 alphabetical names are appended numbers while the rest are CRC16'd. The order in which they are chosen for the naming criteria will differ. This is why naming the SAV after the game to preserve linking only works with 4 or less games of the same type.

If you've ever had about 50 neatly named ROMs in the game and ever formatted, maybe to change the cluster size or for another reason, you're gonna run into problems. LFN lack of support is arguably SC's biggest issue, since a switch like this could crosslink ROMs and save files, causing their immediate loss upon running the games, which obviously won't recognize one another's saves and format them. The only true and definate solution to this is giving your ROMs names of 8 or less characters length.

Wait....what? This is Team Supercard?! SP6 to SP8 in a matter of months!

Is it just me or is the SP8 almost as fast as the other firmwares? I don't feel a change in menu speed.
