That isn't a sleep mode, because that is completely turning off the power to everything in the system. What you're getting at is more of the hibernation mode like what is used in Windows XP, where it saves your progress in everything, and turns off the computer so when you boot up again its back to where you left off. I guess its fesible to do that, just everytime you would have to wait for it to save to the memory, but then again, that's just a save state I suppose.
Yeah its stupid to have to swap out, but for those who pirate, it beats carrying 30 games oppose to 2 carts that are so small you can fit almost anywhere. But stil that is a giant hassel everytime you power on you have to swap, sure it takes 30 seconds, but you have a DS Lite, it's sleek, the process to playing should be sleek. I'll wait for one with passme built in. I refuse to flash my DS Lite just because I have th preference of keeping it stock. DS Phat is another story for me though, lol.

Extreme Coder, I posted the same idea on page 1 of this thread and with a few possilbe problems:

Is it possible for a DS to be flashed with a flash cart running Flashme v7 in slot 1?

If the DS Link can be booted up with a MK4 mini, would it be possible to have Flashme v7 on the DS Link and run it to flash the DS? Then the person can sell the MK4 to someone so they can flash their DS with a DS Link too.

The two problems I see is:Â if the DS can not be flashed with Flashme in slot 1, and if Flashme can even be run with the MK4 swapping method.

I don't see why everybody are sticking on the fact that it need swap. Just flash your DS and it's ok. The true question is (as it as said before by a lot of people) how does it works with homebrew that use the Fat library (it's ok for moonshell but is it an "official" release or a custom one). If everything's ok I think I'll buy one and use it for homebrew and MP3 and wait for DSX-Treme for playing roms that I want to test (even I have a SC CF).

I like buy one these but you need to flash your DS and i'am getting a ds with 18 mth Warranty.

the DSlink still need to do ROMs patched
not like the DS-Xtreme

Chu: its entirely possible, though I have seen some oddities (certain things that ran before stop running) when flashing flashme from a MK2/3 (slot 1 booted on a passme1 compatible DS) that were completely cured by reflashing the unprotected part from a flashcart.

Its a little trickier to load homebrew when you cant just stick it into some RAM on a GBA cart and soft reset the DS. You have to set aside the memory for the loader code and not re-use it.

DSLink kind of strikes me as funny... for a couple reasons actually. It is so much like MK2/3 it is not funny (DS slot SD card access, flash a GBA cart from the menu), it even uses MK2/3 menuflash (from both flashmeV7 and mk4) code to boot up
