Here is the short story.
DS would no longer charge so I bought an official replacement battery.
That worked for a bit.
When i plug in the AC charger the orange light will blink but wont stay on.
Tried multiple AC chargers.
So I figured no luck it was dead.

Turned on the DS 10 months later and it was working perfect.
Was able to charge it again 3 or 4 times.
Now it the orange light wont stay on or charge.
But when plugged in the DS will turn on.

I was told my charging port was bad.
So I have ordered the parts for it.
Could there be any other parts that are bad?
a Fuse?

Thanks for any help

Hmm i´m not sure this is what you mean but i can only charge when i connect the cable to DS before i plug in the charger

There are two fuses for the dsl. sounds like it would be the one near the battery on the board not the easy one near the charger port

google ds fuses and will find may pics of the boards

Plug in the DS and remove the battery. I measured 3.5volts with a volt meter (set to DC volts) on the two little battery + - contacts.

That would indicate that the charger is providing voltage to the battery.

If you get zero than you have your answer.

Also check the fuses like they mentioned above. If you put the volt meter on continuity check you can touch the two sides of the fuse with the volt meter leads you should get a buzz sound from the meter if the fuse is good.

my2cents.

thanks for the help so far
after making my original post
after the ds sat for a couple hours i turned it on and it worked fine
so i will see what happens next time i try to charge it
