I'm trying to hack my Japanese 3DS through the DSiWare and Seedminer method. However, when I copied the patched DSi file to the system and tried launching it, I got a message that pretty much summed up to the app being invalid and to redownload it. I turn off my 3DS and turn it back on. Now the DSiWare is completely gone, despite the eshop and system settings stating otherwise.

delete it from system settings redownload it and try again

Still didn't work. The "incompatible, redownload from eshop" appeared again. Should I start the DSiWare BEFORE I replace it so I have some save data for it?

ok and how did you bruteforce it by yourself or have someone else do it?
Had someone else do it. I used the site linked in the guide

Tried the game before replacing it with the patched version. Game worked fine. Replaced it with the patched version on my SD card, still got the same message.

If I open any other application, the DSiWare still completely disappears

I looked back at DSiHaxInjector and looked at both failed and unsuccessful build out of curiosity. Turns out my patches failed

Which dsiware game are you trying to hack?

btw, you should be using this method, as it's totally free

I've been using Daily Health Notebook from the Japanese eshop since it's free
Ah that's why. Don't know where in the jisagi guide it tells you to use that game since it requires a different method.

But anyway, you have to launch it with homebrew since it's injected with US sudoku.
You need to be following the steelminer guide I linked above.

The end of the guide you sent says to run Steeldiver. I don't have Steeldiver

Search steeldiver (no space between words) on the jpn eshop, it's free.
(don't download the update)

There's a cart version of steel diver and steel diver: sub wars.
These are different games. The latter is free-to-play.

Wait, so what do I follow after launching Steeldiver? I'm following the guide for Seedminer, but that GBATemp post links to the guide for transferring to another 3DS.

I ran Steeldiver, but it boot to the normal game. I made a 3DS folder on the SD root and put the Squirrelboot.3dsx in it. The guide makes it seem like it would boot straight to the Homebrew Launcher
Well you can't just skip to step 11 if you haven't been following that guide.
You need to look over that guide and make sure to do the things you missed.
One of them is installing a hacked save to steel diver.

I don't see where in the guide it mentions downloading a hacked Steeldiver save

Oh wait, it's the very first thing. It's just a different guide.

yeah, was about to say that. keep in mind you don't have to mine your movable.sed again so it should go pretty quick.
(start on section II)

What is CTRNAND and do I have to do it? I feel like I'm done after completing DSP1
