So, the previous summer (2018), my dsi bricked. Reason? None! I just powered my dsi on one day and boom! 0000FEFE error code!

From that day, everytime I power on my DSi, it instantly throws me into the 0000FEFE error code in 1 millisecond!

I tried doing the battery drain method (by letting the power go off by itself and putting the battery out for 1 hour).

I also tried the power on/off method (where you power the dsi on and off repeatedly) and of course, no results.

My only guess is that I have to extract the wifi board and replace it with a new one.
It's weird too because when the dsi regularly bricks, it takes at least 1 second to get into the error code but for me, it shows the error code in one millisecond!
So, is there an alternative method?
Not that I WANT to fix it (because I already have a 3DS) I'm just wondering if there's an alternative fix.

Hello.:)

I agree with you,i think it´s the WiFi Board.Personally i don´t know another solution than change the board.
I´ll do it a few years and it´s not a difficult work but it´s a "detail work".Little screws,ribbon(s) but it´s not impossible.

A WiFi board you can buy at amazon or aliexpress between 3-10 Dollars. It´s a way to learn more about your DSi and his interior.
And it makes fun to "tinker".:grog:

P.S. I´ve "heard" of an "solution'" to turn on/off the DSi repeatedly, once upon a time the DSi boots up.:blink:

0000FEFE means NAND/eMMc corruption/degradation. There is a very slim chance that your DSi’s is not corrupted/degraded if it’s the WiFi board as the WiFi board contains the DSi’s BIOS. If the WiFi board being cleaned with isopropyl alcohol or being replaced doesn’t fix it, it is likely a problem with the NAND. The only way to fix this if you don’t have a backup is to get another DSi and hack it and the dump the NAND and dump the OTP keys to in-encrypt it and somehow replace the NAND chip with an SD card and the re-encrypt the other DSi’s NAND with the broken DSi’s OTP keys. This is only in theory and it would be easier to get a new DSi or a new motherboard for the old console. Even if you do do this, you would lose everything stored on the system memory.

If you send it to someone who can replace the WiFi board or do the donor NAND method, you can, but that is the only way I know of.
