DSHobro 0.3 released

By Costello

DSHobro 0.3, a homebrew web browser for the Nintendo DS, was just released. The main changes for this version are: automatic configuration, flash/java/activex now supported, text input is implemented, more wifi data transfer notifications, and an improved way to handle errors.

Previews of flash, text input, what should we expect in 0.4?

My ideas are:
- improved text support, with a real UI (a real text editor)
- a better support for text files and images, DShobro should be able to download them and view them separately...
- being able to download files and save them to the cart... would be nice wouldn't it?

I don't really have any other ideas.
Concerning v0.3, the thing I'm most proud of is the automatic configuration

the hardest part was to actually invent the idea and the way it works. Coding it was easy.

Wow. If you could support downloading files, could get homebrew and demos pretty conveniently. I was kind of hoping that the official DS Browser would have some kind of demo download support or something when it was originally announced.

Is it possible for someone (prferably someone from GBATemp) puts up a dedicated server for everyone that is a member at GBATemp so we can use this without using our own actual computer?

Awesome work. Please don't stop even if Mediacart is going to steal your program.

(side-note: what happened to the other homebrew for the past week??)

i dont want to break your fun about downloading files, but the max transfer rate for ds is like 10 kbps

what would you even want to download other then maybe some cache files, or small pics

which leads to:

do you think you can make it possible to upload imgs to say imageboards or photobucket?

Slightly aside the point, I could download from the DSO Homebrew DataBase with DSO at about 15 Kbps; and besides, the transfer rate on a dial-up computer is about 5-6 kbps for downloads.

Instead of downloading file, why not save pictures etc. should be easier.

Also, could you please work on the image quality? it looks horrible on default and better when set to the maximum but still no where near DSOpera level of clearity. Why not use PNG? Sorry, I could be wrong.
