Ok so I edited the .wadsel file to this so my total converted batman for doom2 would be recognised:

[Batman]
savpath = batman/
wad = batman/doom2.wad
wad = batman/batman.wad

OK so then I put my wad files(Batman.wad and DOOM2.wad) into 'data/dsdoom/Batman/'
So then when I load up dsdoom 1.1.2a I click on standard play or what ever the first option you click on is called and click on the batman folder. So you know how when it loads up a bunch of text comes up on the screen? Well on my screen it comes up for about 1/2 second then the screen goes completely black.

So is there anything else I need to do? I've tried this with 2 different ones and the same thing keeps happening. Can anyone help?

Thanks for this but some of the wads aren't showing up. Like all of th Simpsons ones and the Chex quest one. Is there a button I have to press to like switch pages or something?

Ok I figured it out. It seems my on my DS2 it was not showing all the wad files in the wad selector but I put it on my Acekard 2i and it works perfectly. Thanks Gamer4Life.

Also do you mind if I put your 'data' file on Filetrip.net? I'll give you credit if you give me permission.

EDIT: I'm retarded. I tried putting your data folder on my SCDS2 and it worked properly. I'm guessing I must've accidentally pulled out my microSD or something. Thanks again Gamer4Life!

Sorry for killing this thread. The link contains the Doom wad, Doom 2 wad, and TNT wad. These are still copyrighted to ID soft and illegal to trade. The mirror has also been removed from FileTrip.

If you are using the unofficial DSDoom update which featured PWAD loading then the WADS can be hosted as long as the authors do not have issues with this. I am only assuming that you would not have made any of the PWADs into IWADS (which could contain the illegal content as found in the Doom.wad files).

An alternative to using the Doom wads would be to use the FreeDoom project wad. You could try to see if the PWADs work with FreeDoom and then reup the file with FreeDoom included (as it is free to trade and free to use).

As for free legal player wads (PWADs) check out this site http://www.doomworld.com/10years/bestwads/
I highly recommend Earth, probably one of the most advanced WADs ever made. http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=9627
Roger Ritenour also did Phobos, another great WAD. http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=9597

Finally here is a link to the FreeDoom project: http://www.nongnu.org/freedoom/

    I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    they sorta are a pc
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    but its a custom os for both of them
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    They place married security chips onto boards iirc

    Every games basically cross platform they only have about 6 titles making it worth the $600 price tag
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    nintendo needs to up their game soon
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Yeah even bt support for Xbox one controllers are just as easy as pairing
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    considering the steamdeck can emulate the switch (yikes) theres almost 0 reason to buy the switch apart from playing online and using cartridges

    Xinput and 360 dongles were a driver nightmare
