If you want ease of use can I suggest you look at autoIT, it is pretty good for GUI making (it can spit out command line, screen positions related stuff, call DLLs, make directories/(text) files, registry stuff... and some binary stuff (not so good at reading/editing)).

Syntax is somewhere between C? and new style basic (Visual Basic and the like) and there is no need for clunky framework.

If you want something that is coded in it look at BatchDPG.

Thanks, I'll look into that

Version 0.5 is out! Added a Header Editor, and a function to send the app to your flashcard or wherever you need your ROMs! Check it out! (More on the first post of this thread!)

I added a download link for dsbuff at the GBAtemp Downloads section to the first post.

If anyone has any feedback, please post!

I have been having trouble with multiple bugs in adding the changeable temp directory. BUT I have released a beta which should have most of them ironed out . Please report any bugs you find!

dsbuff 0.61 BETA

P.S. The version number has a 1 on the end to reduce confusion between the older dslazy program which has been resting on a 0.6 release for some time.

Read the Readme.txt for all the info!

Nice work and keep it up!

Thanks

I have a lot of ideas for future functions, expect the final of v1 soon.

Ahh, sorry for another double post (hey, it's been a few months

). I've finally gotten v1 Final up and going, so check out the first post for details!

Hey, really nice work!
I'm also trying to code a litte Dot.Net-NDS-Helper-Program (only for me), but I have no idea how to extract the Icon as a Bitmap.

Could you please show the whole sourcecode of dsbuff or only the code from the DSIconClass?
That would be very nice!

Greetz and Thanks,
FabShaw

Hi and happy new year!

Thanks for the hints! But I dont want to discover how the icon-extraction works, I only want to use it in my application

The nice programmer of dsbuff already has an implementation or library in dot.net. I dont want to rewrite it a second time.
I hope you understand my situation.

Thanks, FabShaw

Is there a reason why dsbuff dumps a bunch of crap in C:\dsbuff\? I'd really like to upgrade from dslazy, but can't stand the pointless clutter, why can't it just load its auxiliary apps from the local directory?

Sorry bump here WB3000...

Could you help us?
Post #01: Jul 31, 2007 - version 1 final
Post #25: Dec 09, 2007 - version 0.61 beta

- The first is older, link doesn't work, but version appears to be the "final" 1.00
- The second is newer, link is OK, but version is 0.61 beta.

Which version the users should use?

Thanks, []-P

Hello Gyron,

First, thank you to provide the link for the community. But...

The version 0.61 beta have retro-compatibility and works on Windows XP.

Pic 1: dsbuff 0.61 running OK on Windows XP.

---------------------------------------------------
But the version 1.00 Final seems not work on older Windows versions.

Pic2: dsbuff 1.00 final with an .NET error on XP Pro SP3.

Question:
What is the minimum configuration to run version 1.0 Final?
(Win 7, 8, .NET framework version, etc...)?

Sorry for ask.

'V1 final' will only work for some functions on XP (like extracting the icon), but other tasks may cause it to crash. It will work fine in Win7 though. 'V0.61 beta' should work fine in both.
