How does the DS connect to the server on the Computer?

through wifi and both of those homebrew come with a .exe server that you luanch

So it connects to the server.exe through the PCs WiFi. My computer doesn't have Wireless so I use a Network Card for it. Would that work?

The DS uses open(unsecured) and Wep, except N type, wifi connections.

regarding networking how-to's, google is your best friend.

If you set it on unsecured or with WEP, then it should. As long as you set it properly.
Wifi types are the same on any device, pc or whatever as long as its compatible with the wifi type.
