Hacking DS Lite works intermittently

so someone is trying to sell me this broken DS Lite. he tells me that it turns on intermittently. sometimes it will power on and sometimes it won't. but he said that when it DOES work, it reads games fine but will randomly freeze sometime in the middle of the game. what do u guys think it could be? big problem? or easily fixable?

well it depends on the price ur buying it for like if its cheap u could always send it to nintendo to get it fixed or so or live with the problem

The shutting down thing might just be a problem with the battery, it may be damaged. Could be an easy fix or it might be an extra super hard fix because it might have to do with damaged power cables that connect to the battery.
