What would be really useful is a good vocabulary trainer for the DS that lets you use custom made decks. I'd suggest to port Anki if that's possible. Probably one of the best trainers for Windows that's very functional and looks good (source code is available online btw). Maybe the original developer will even lend you a hand. If you like the idea but don't want to port Anki, please make sure that common list formats can be imported (mostly tab spaced txt files). Thanks!

If I only had the programming skill (or the time to acquire it) I would so do this... -_-

Guys how about an INTERNET RADIO player through wifi? Such as Pandora? LOL im just a kid but i think thats a pretty good idea. and actually seems possible with previous nds applications like DS-AIM and Be_up live. Just wondering music output through wifi is possible with the NDS

DSOrganize and some other applications can already stream Internet radio. Pandora probably won't work, but sites where you can freely download the *.pls or *.m3u playlist will work. Heck, you can even use DSLinux if you want, though that's rather complicated.

There's also SylphAmp for streaming songs from your computer to the DS but it doesn't work with newer DS Lites.

It would be nice with a zatcka/Achtung die kurve for nds
Zatacka was originally made for PC and Linux
And it is a multiplayer game on the same screen and you are playing with snakes trying to avoid the other snakes.
Zatacka is fun!
I searched for a ds version, and I found one for nds but a 1v1 game.
I really enjoy it on the PC.

I think it would be popular on ds….

lol, that is most defiantly impossible... you would have to have a web browser and a kind of mini desktop...

i would probably want a pictochat that is wifi, instead of talking on pictochat with someone right next to me.

Does anyone know if the Wi-Fi protocol and the Wireless protocol are the same? If not, is any of them faster?
Considering the wireless protocol to be faster (reasonably faster?) than Wi-Fi, it would be interesting to make something like a computer sided server using that first protocol so we could have a faster "wi-fi" connection. Sure, you would be limited to be close to a computer with the server running, but at least it would improve our "wi-fi like" connection.
If something like that is actually possible, it would also be interesting to make a computer sided internet "pair making" in which you would connect as if it was wireless. Doing that you would be able to play games that don't have wi-fi capabilities with people far away.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
