I find the lack of Radiant Historia in this thread disturbing. Of course it's a weeaboo game, so there's only so much you can expect in terms of the storyline, but I found it quite enjoyable.

Dragon Quest Joker/Joker2 are both awesome. They use an engine similar to Dragon Quest 8.

Orces and Elves kept me entertained. Slowly unravelling the plot as I went on.

The Dragon Quest series is always a favorite of mine too.

Can't remember any DS game stories hooking me quite like that of Half-Life, Deus Ex, Chronicles of Riddick, COC: Dark Corners of the Earth, or Knights of the Old Republic though.

I'll also add Infinite Space, The gameplay is meh at times and get repetitive but the multiple branching storyline is epic and deep, took me over 40 hours to finish.

Even though this thread is years old. I seriously can't believe no one mentioned 999: 9 hour 9 person 9 door even though its not an rpg but how can one overlook its great story its just simply brilliant
