ROM Hack DS Emulator Help

I'm using the No$GBA Emulator, but every time I load a game like Picross DS, the game will load and all that good stuff, but than it will say it can't access the save data. Why is this? Shouldn't it just make one on it's own?

Set the save type to 64K EEPROM

Note that different games will have different save types. Load the game, change the save option, then press the asterisk on your numberpad (*) to reset the game.

have you tried version 2.6 it fixed compatibility for alot of games but you can also try messing around with the save data as the other users said
