Working on R4 (fw 1.05) with dldi patch (link to on the site). following files copied to ROOT of the microSD card (ADATA 512mb):

prboom.wad
dsdoom.nds (patched for R4)
doom.wad

saving works as well. very impressive.

scorpei's wiki for the R4 updated with this info.

Just had a play on Doom! Works perfectly

I'll upload the patched files in a min for anyone having problems.

I'll host this up for a while.

The rar file contains everything to get up and running including the Doom Demo WAD file and the patched NDS file so it works on the R4. Basically just put all the files apart from the text files onto the root of your R4 card. If you own Doom already replace the DOOM.WAD file with the full version from your CD.

Is there a chance of running other homebrew apps on R4 after patching the files with dlditool? Any feedback on this?

Appearantly Chishm's latest FATlib has dldi support and there seems to be a way to do it on stuff which hasn't the latest FATlib as well. Im gonna test some stuff and i'll get back on the results.

Well I tried and failed lol
I tried to recompile some homebrew to include the dldi support.. but I wasn't capable to make it work... oh well..

I have tried to use the dldi tool unsuccessfully with the following homebrew:

snesds
ds organize (tried all 3 vers avail)
nitrotracker (synthesizer homebrew, freezes on its intro/loading screen)
ti83 emulator (made a nds with ndstool.exe, white screen on start, maybe others can use better ndstool.exe settings...)

All returned "no dldi section found"

NitroTracker worked perfectly by patching it with the R4 DLDI (Both read and write). Tried it like 5min ago.

EDIT:
NitroTracker

I was using the old 0.2 version of NT. It works with 0.3. Thanks for finding this out.

That's because that homebrew wasn't made using the latest DevKitPro with DLDI support. DLDI patching only works on homebrew that was compiled with DLDI in mind. Btw, DsDoom works great on my SCLR as well using the SuperCard SD DLDI file

bob_fossil made a GUI version of the DLDI patcher. Download it here: http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.php?t=12...er=asc&start=45
