On second thought, the first case is already asking me to piece things together without prompting me with logistical reasoning, which means... RANDOM GUESSWORK.

Really? I felt like the first case was too easy, in that you had all of the clues there and I knew exactly what happened but still had to go through the motions to "prove" it. The real-life nature of the crimes themselves make it a bit easier to use logic than the Phoenix Wright games.

for the end of the tutorial case,
where you present your final deduction to the chief
after you answer which person you think it is
he asks you what key item linked the suspect to the case. or something like that
and. the answer is a 2 letter word. or abbrev.
but i cant figure out what it is :[
i tried AB for address book..

Why do people camparing all Quest Avdenture games with Phoenix Wright...?
This is different game, it's don't even looks like Phoenix Wright. But graphics is awesome.

Yeah, I also hate how a lot of visual novels are compared to either the Ace Attorney series or Hotel Dusk. I was thinking about giving this a try but I don't have my flashcart with me at the moment

. Gotta go pick it up later.

What was the key evidence in narrowing down the suspect? the initials, right?

Yeah it's just weird wording to call it an 'item.'

So far I like the game. The process seems pretty logical if you ask me. Didn't seem random as GreenBanana said.
The main difference between PW and UC:
In PW, you play as the lawyer and the main point is defending your client, and you had to get all the evidence and permission from the police (while sneaking in or breaking the rules sometimes even!)
In UC you are in the police department and can investigate all you want legally, and even get in on some cop action, 70s style.

You have to give the graffiti artists initials i think You have to enter NB for NoteBook

Anyone else stuck on opening the safe on the second case? Figured it out: You have to turn the lock left 3 times then right 4 times and try the handle

I'm using R4 firmware 1.18, doesn't work!

Have you tried the arm 7 patch?

I by the way am completely cr*p at these kinda games and so ask this: What do you have to do to solve the tutorial level? . So far iv checked out all 4 profiles and statements, looked closely at the spray can and went through the alley with a fine tooth comb but what next?

And any help with the first proper case , sny hints

cheers, paul

no what is this arm 7 patch?

Use DSLazy to unpack the rom and then copy and paste an Arm7 file from another rom into that rom. I don't know whether it matters, but I choose an Arm7 file from a rom that is a similar size.

Edit: Here.

Must admit loving the game so far ( I'm not far though about 30 min's in), good noir-ish type theme, clues, solving etc. Might be a more gritty approach than Perfect Prosecutor when that comes out.

I second that this game is Phoenix Wright meets Hotel Dusk. It even has the questionnaire thing from Hotel Dusk. Seems good so far.

ok. finally got past the tutorial. now im on the 1st real case.
and im stuck again >.<
the part where you search the ladies grocery bag.
it just tells you to investigate. and yeah. i zoom in on like the milk and apples and stuff

Touch the blood stain on one of the apples.

Doesn't work on the R4 >:(

How come no one stated this?

Mine works without any patch. Maybe you have a bad rom.

I just started this after having finished Time Hollow. This is a great follow up since it's way more involving and forces you to search logically. My only gripe was the sliding touch screen controls, but after I selected the second controls, it all went smooth and now I love it.
