can someone test out this new build of prboom3ds.cia? - https://github.com/elhobbs/prboom3ds/blob/master/prboom3ds.cia
this seems to fix the sound hang issues on my 4.2/9.2 o3ds.

I will try it

Edit: Works good, in the other versions when I turn on/off the 3D effect the sound had lag or some kind of crashes.

Well, I play more time and tell you what issues I found

Edit 2: The game crashes in Doom at the end of phobos anomaly, on Doom 2 in the map "the crusher"

This happens enough that I suspect it is a browser issue or a github issue. You don't have the current version for some reason. You will need to download it again and reinstall. Edit: make sure you uninstall the previous version first or it may not actually install the new version.

There was a Similar port of the Doom Demo to the DS. You needed a MEM Expansion Card, but it could run without it (But it was laggy as hell!) The 3DS should run Doom Perfectly in the Future!
I think you are confusing the quake port - it used the memexpansion card. The prboom port did not use the expansion card. There were a few doom ports for the ds. I do not recall any of them using the memexpansion card. Quake ds did use the expansion card but I always thought that cquake was much better :)

It was actually Quake 2 that required the expansion card, wasn't it? I have Quake on my regular unexpanded DSi XL.

Has Doom been updated lately? Last I used it, it didn't have an icon or banner. Still the case as of now?
I like to keep myself up to date with awesome apps I enjoy.

Use the .cia posted here.

It has a banner, icon and correct naming. It's still based on the older September build, but doesn't have the crashing issues that the newer cia versions suffer from.
Love the banner, but I noticed the game crashed and froze the 3ds with repeating sounds. So I beat level 3, and I was about to beat level 4. I opened the exit door and a demon was inside, then it froze.
So my strategy is to beat a level, then save, and exit the game.

Yeah I've experienced crashes too, they seem to be somewhat apart though.
I think I got the freeze at level 3 or around there. :P

I haven't tried the latest CIA posted by elhobbs, I'll try to test it this weekend.

You know guys, the 3dsx version runs just as good, if not better, than the cia version ...

Pip'
Yeah but sadly going into the Homebrew Launcher from emuNAND locks you from going back to the Home menu, it's the reason why Im changing all my apps to CIA instead.
If you do go back from the HBL to the Home menu, the system will most likely crash in a few min.
