I seriously doubt someone is going to pay a stranger online five hundred for a little hack.

Anyways, I would also like to see this. It was done for Okami(and I guess Metroid) so I'm sure it can be done for this game too. You just gotta find someone with the know-how and time that's willing to do it.

The controls are far from being terrible though(I've only used the sideway method though). You barely have to shake the wiimote for a roll/pound/blow to happen, but I see absolutely no reason at all why the devs couldn't have given us the options to use the B button for this.

Hopefully someone will be willing to do this.

Where can I find these control hacks?

The game hasn't even been out a week and your already complaining about controls. Give yourself some time to get used to them! There's no time limits, so find yourself a safe spot on a level and practice if you have to.
If you have to "get used to" or practice using controls then I'd say decent design has failed.

I've never had to give myself time in the past, I've never had to practice more than 5 or 10 seconds in any game. Not even when I first got a wii - most games (that I wanted to play) had intuitive, and well done controls.

Despite that, I wouldn't say the controls in DKCR are broken, they are just pretty bad. Classic Controller would have been nice - then everyone would have the option of playing it the way they like.

Thanks for the great discussion guys,

Of Course everybody is entitled to their own opinion; i for myself think that DKCR Controls suck. But that's just me; my thoughts arn't better or worse than anybody elses...

but this thread is dedicated to creating a hack; so id greatly appreciate if anybody who wants to bash other people for the way they like to control their games could please do that so thread else; im really tring to create a solution for people who dont like motion gaming and play wii games because they love nintendo fun and not necessarily motion fun...

I use Config USB. And for Okami the control hack is in the cheats. So just select the game in Config, download the cheats. And there's one for mapping the motion controls to buttons. Which was a freakin' Godsend. I simply hated waving the Wiimote to dash or attack. With the hack you push a button combo and you would dash or attack(I forget what the combo is, I finished the game a few months ago)

For Metroid, I'm was just going by the post on the first page of this thread. Not sure what control hack he's talking about, or if there even is one.

So wow, it really looks like this guy is going to pay $500 for this? He must have money to burn. If I knew how to do this I would jump on that offer in a heartbeat(although if I knew how to do it I would have done it for free).

I don't know what all this talk of broken controls is about? I played last night with the remote and nun-chuck and had no problems. I played some more this morning with my 5 year old son and he picked up on this shit right off the bat! I swear there is always somebody that just has to have a bitch fest on here about something that is utterly pointless and stupid.

And then there's the people that have to bitch and cry about other people bitching and crying...

Sheesh, IT"S A FUCKING APE GAME ! ( with awesome controls ! )

My 5 year old daughter is playing this WITHOUT PROBLEMS, right after playing DORA... so whats the problem with the controls?

FYI Have any off you ever played DORA? I you want broken controls, DORA is your game.... DKCR is a dream compared to most games ....

please stop the bitching...i cool with the way your daughters like their games...and i do not have money to burn...but if i wait 15 years for a sequel to a game i love i would even buy a new gaming system for it (which comes in at about 500 bucks)...so please: Dont tell me i'm a little bitch: ill admit id: im a bitch for great control...and i'm a little more discering than most 5 year olds...

i hope someone will come up with a solution...for my money or for free...i dont care...i just wanna play the game the way DKC was supposed to be played...and i will make the hack available for from for everybody...so im not taking away anthing form noone...i just want more options to satisfy alot of hardcore gamers...

I, for one, say if there is a way to play a game without motion controls, then it should be an option. I LOVE using my classic controller in lue of the motion controls. Having a Wii shouldn't equate to MUST use motion controls. Thats idiotic. I also bought a wii because I love nintendo games, not because I love to move around all the damn time. Some of us like to play games when we are hurt, sore, and tired.

Ive flapped my arms so much I can almost fly

games that don't meet expectations generally suck I wouldn't pay anyone to change them I would find something else to play instead.

Then play it with it's regular default controls, because thats the way the game was supposed to be played

offering someone a ridiculous amount of money is not helping anyone.

if controls hacks come out, then they do.

chill out man the game hasn't been out for 2 official days, and the leechers are already bitchin.

vamoose.

The people complaining about people complaining about lack of control options...

On one hand you have people who say "The game is good but it would be nice if classic controller support was added"

On the other hand you have people saying "Shut up, its perfect the way it is, and I have 10 excuses lined up to show you why your wrong about the way you like to play your games!!!!"

Just pointing out the painfully obvious here, but the people who would like classic control support added are not saying take away the current control scheme... So if you like it the way it is fine go play it and stop hanging out in a thread that is asking for a way to ADD something in, you add nothing to the discussion by saying its fine the way it is thats NOT what this thread is about.

The Wii is one of the most flexible systems ever made and supports so many play styles its crazy, its crazy to expect that people would want to take advantage of that with some of the best software ever made.

Well said JonthanD.

Playing it with the controller sideways is giving me bad cramps/RSI in my fingers (I have large hands), and it isn't very enjoyable using the nunchuk. Classic Controller support wouldn't stop others enjoying whichever control method they prefer, and would enable me to play the game for longer periods without ending up with twisted claws for hands.

I honestly don't see the problem with these controls, why is everyone complaining? Tried both Wii Remote and Nunchuk and the Wii Remote sideways, both worked well, though I prefer the Nunchuk setup. I don't get why there are so many complaints and calls for Classic Controller support.

There's been a number of reasons given.

Some people want the nostalgia of a game series (sub-series?) they haven't played since SNES. And saying "go play the original 3 games then" is not a reasonable response because they HAVE played those game any number of times.

Some people just don't want motion controls. Either plain laziness, actual physical tiredness, or a genuine dislike of motion controls.

Not all people have trouble with the controls as many people tend to assume. I had no trouble at all with the controls, and after about 2 minutes of getting used to the general flow of the game I found it rather easy. I honestly didn't like having to wiggle my arms every few feet to hit a flower or break a block though.
