This may sound like a dumb question, but what's the purpose of a forwarder? I figured it has something to do with the SD Menu from the 4.0 FW?

It has nothing to do with FW4.0
The channel does not contain the USB loader itself. Instead it contains a dol file that will read another dol file from SD. In this case, it will load the file at \apps\usb_loader\boot.dol.
When an updated loader is released, you only have to replace that dol file on SD. You won't need an updated channel

WIth a forwarder you can install a channel once on the Wii. this channel will forward you to an USB loader version on your SD.
By doing this you can easely keep your USB loader up to date without changing the channel. SO you only have to replce the USB loader on The SD card.
Hope I explained it clearly.

alright i think i can kinda guess, but im gonna raise my flame retarded sheild and ask this question- what is a dol fowarder and how does it work.

Does this one work even if you have a nunchuck plugged into your wii controller?

LOL no it doesn't! At least not for me... But you saved my day, because I was trying since an hour to get this running.... Zapp Nunchuck dis-attached: working like a charm :-)

Could someone please re-upload it as a .rar or .zip.

That should be the only way to upload wads. Less chance of installing a corrupted wad.
Files can get corrupted when up/downloading them. If they are rarred it should fail at unpacking, if they got corrupted.

So please, for now (and always) please upload wads as .rar files.

Thanks !!

yeah this channel is so awesome!
not only kickass design but also finally NO MORE FREEZING during dumping!
i tried three different usb loader channels until this finally worked!

Unfortunately, no. It will crash then.

So, I need to unplug my nun chuck and things will work? I can plug it right back in once the USB loader starts, correct?

does it work for all Wii regions (USA, PAL, JAP) ?

whats the chance of getting my wii bricked with this channel?

Is there a known reason for this? Is it a problem relating to a forwarder channel a problem with the loader app or something else?
Just wondering where the problem lies.
I'm using Loopguy's forwarder channel and 1.1 custom background loader.

Well I discovered another thing. When I start the channel and then hold A on the remote, the forwarder will load the loader succesfully, even if there is a nunchuck plugged in

is the dol forwarder source code available?

I noticed that if a get a game that keeps freezing before finishing, if I hold A through the process it will not freeze. For larger games that take a while, I put a weight on the A button and keep on going with life. When I come back, it is done.
