Hardware Does your 3DS click when opening?

I never had this on my DSi unless it was fully opened.

My 3DS makes a rather loud 'clicking' sound when it's opened to the point when it stays open. It's an almost a loud 'ping' sound.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Nope, no clicking sound here. Haven't had any problems with mine so far.

Mine makes a small light thud. It's more of a movement then a sound.

hmm worrying... I think my 3DS hinge might be loose.

Yeah. Mine makes a little click when it hits default screen opening. I think that's something to do with the springs. Nothing to worry about, regardless.
