Hacking Does using the Kexploit modify the Wii U's hardware/code?

I want to run OctoHax and colorizer on my wii u but I don't want to modify my consoles code really, does it change anything?

The code change is only temporary and will go back to normal when you turn off your wii u

But the modification is code. If it were not code then it would need to be a physical change such as a modchip
