Gaming Does the eShop have midnight releases?

Hey guy I was just wondering if the eShop did midnight releases. I want to be able to download Pokemon X at midnight.

how do you think e-shop will work with Pokémon releases?
You will need hours and hours of download if e-shop does not go down.
I bet e-shop will go down a couple of times for the amount of people accessing it.
I do not know how 3DS deals with an unfinished download, things could get ugly.

Wait 2 or 3 days and download it with security and at a decent speed, that's my advice.
Feel free to do whatever you want, but do not ask me how to deal with corrupted data on 3DS,

Yeah, like mentioned above, obviously the download pauses, heck, if you put it downloading in suspended mode the game will download as long as it has network, if you leave a place with internet it will simply pause and then resume once it has internet again. The system or the game itself won't be damaged.

but anyway, I wouldn't try downloading Pokémon X and Y on release date,
I bet e-shop will go down several times,
and download speed will go from slow to super slow.
Better be patient and download 2 or 3 days later, when things get more calm.

It will probably take hours, but it'll still be faster than waiting until the game stores open.
And even if the 3DS handled suspended downloads badly and the things you said were true, don't forget that games are stored on the SD card, so worst case scenario the SD card corrupts and you have to run ScanDisk.

It's not often, but sometimes stores are forced to respect the release dates given by the game company, Nintendo wants a world-wide release and if Nintendo wants to, they can take stores to court that release the game earlier.

Naturally, I just showed an hypothesis based on previous releases.
Since it's the first worldwide release of a Pokémon game, things could be different,
but honestly I doubt.

Spain will have it first, it will be released there at the 11th, because 12th is a feast day in Spain.

That is only the retail one. The eShop is a completely different thing.
