Hacking Does R4 SDHC brick DS?

I have got my R4 SDHC about a month ago, and everything was working fine, till yesterday, where I on my DS, and a screen came out and say

This is a fake card!!

I am currently using kernel 1.25

But it works again after I turn it off and on, again.

Then, as I was doing research on the internet, I found that R4 Team will brick anyone's DS who uses fake/clone R4.

I am wondering if it is true, cos the message came out, but I have been using it for a month.

Just asking, because I dun wana spend another bucks on another flashcart.

So does that mean it is safe using R4 SDHC?

Btw, I heard that most clone firmware is from the orginal R4, and R4 Team make it a way that if you use the firmware on the orginal R4, it could work, but if u use it on clone R4s, it will brick you DS unit..

I recommend the cyclods if you have the cash.
Otherwise, the I touch or DSTT are good.

If you have the original R4 like me, use YSmenu

Oh. So, can a DS unit be somehow like semi-brick?

My DS Lite is not brick, as it still can on or off, but if there is something like semi-brick, how do I see if my DS is "semi-brick"?
