Does changing region means changing language as well?

    Want to unlock new japanese 3ds xl. Is changing the region means changing the menu language as well? Noob here :P

    Yes but it is possible to change the language back to your native language.
    I've a EUR EmuNAND (english) and a JPN EmuNAND (english).
    You just need to replace the msbt-files inside of the System Menu CIA.
    Your JPN System Menu will be english then.

    Do you happen to have a tutorial or a link to how one could go about doing this? I'm tired of my JPN 3DS being unintelligible and don't care to risk a region swap solely for menu strings. Theoretically, this should also preserve user settings and data, right?
