This is probably a big ask...

But I'm wondering if there is a precompiled library of gct files? Making them is a long process and the auto download no longer works.

I'm not after any game in particular. I just want to put the files into the codes folder (I think usb loader already looks there). Then if I feel like using cheats I only theres a good chance I'll have the file.

These are not large files so could put loads of them into my SD precompiled. I know some cheats aren't compatible... but having the popular ones already in a folder seems like the way forward? (Unless anyone knows why not). Any help uploads zip file's etc would be greatly appreciated.

These are not .gct format, they are .txt. They work for WiiFlow Lite and USB GX.

GX path...
SD/txtcodes folder for .txt files
SD/codes folder for .gct files

You can use default path or use GX path settings of your choice.

WFL path...
SD/wiiflow/codes for .txt files
SD/wiiflow/codes/gct for .gct files

To check/edit path for WFL... open wiiflow_lite.ini using notepad++, located in SD/apps/wiiflow.

Look for these lines...
dir_cheat=SD:wiiflow/codes/gct
dir_txtcheat=SD:/wiiflow/codes

You can configure so WFL and GX use the same path. Then using either loader, Ocarina will allow you to create your own cheat .gct, make sure Ocarina is set to on after you create/apply.

Good Luck.

I have updated the cheats .txt files here. Added all Virtual Console cheats I could find.
Obviously, I have not tested everything here, but hopefully most/all are working, and please post results.
I am curious if the NES, Neo, Genesis etc. are relevant/working. I made quite a few edits to GC cheat txt files and hope no problems.
I used my MKW Wii cheat as primary, if you want the gecko instead, you'll have to change name of RMCE01_GECKO and delete the other.
Lastly, I separated the cheat zip into two separate folders, all files are in "Wii All Cheats", the "Wii Console Cheats" folder is broken down by console.

Modmii classic has a cheat code downloader built in it, so that's another option, and it can download cheats for other consoles too not just the Wii. That being said, the current official release of modmii still points to geckocodes which has shut down, this is fixed in the latest ModMii beta which might still be a couple weeks away from a release, PM me if you want a link to the beta

Hi I just thought I'd let you know that worked perfectly.

I downloaded 2632 titles cheat codes I think. They're in 2 folders codes and txtcodes which just need to be copied to the SD card. Usbloadergx creates the gct after selecting which cheats you want. You've just got to make sure you don't click update as usbloadergx will try and download updated codes from Gekocodes it overwrites the file. I went into settings but I don't think I can change this. Even if I could remove the option it'd be handy as there's probably not going to be any new wii games,

Sorry about the delay I've been messing around with homebrew on a 3ds and switch. But always good to come back to the wii.

Would it be useful to include the files/ folders here as a zip?

You could upload a zip, could come in handy for some

Note that the latest usbloader gx by @blackb0x (get it from his signature, or eventually modmii once I push another update) should still be able to successfully download codes, as it too has updated links replacing the old/dead gecko codes links

Edit: btw, the 2 folders you mentioned contain the same codes, but saved in alternate directories that will work depending on the app your using (for example acciohacks and usbloader gx expect to find the codes in different folder structures). There's a modmii option to choose one or the other location, default setting is both

Ok This is the full list of cheat codes downloaded from Modmii :) on 12/9/20201 (There probably won't be any more codes after this date anyway so this should be the complete libiary).

I did download the new USBloaderGX and it does point to the new location..... however this is a handy thing to keep. ITs not that big to keep on a modern day SD card (unzipped about 17MB). It's worth keeping the new location may also disappear one day.

Just one thing I use a custom USBloaderGX forwarder (I think its technically a channel in its own right not just a forwarder... but I'm not going to explain that here). Its the one with Tabs at the top for GameCube games. If anyone knows of an update to this forwarder let me know.

At the moment If I run Usbloader through the custom forwarder it links to the "old" Gecko codes but works fine if I run it through the Homebrew (but doesn't have the tabs).

I've got a new forwarder on my laptop, I'll try later but I'm 99% its the one without Tabs (even if its got the new updated Ocarina support).

I might look into compiling my own forwarder with tabs, I read a document somewhere on it a few years ago (didn't look too hard) .... the only trouble is its been that long since I did anything on the Wii (I'm beginning to wonder what a WAD file is :rofl:).
Anyway I'm straying from the point.

If these are useful UNzip and put the 2 folders on THE ROOT of the SD card.

You can install modmii's usbloader forwarder channel if u like, or the official UNEO usbloader forwarder, and it will forward to what you have on sd/usb.

Sounds like u have the usbloader tab mod actually injected/hardcoded into a channel. There's cons to doing it this way, but to update it, just inject the hbc app boot.dol that u want into a channel/wad using customize mii. Some apps may not work properly/fully this way though, especially when run without a fat32 SD or hdd present

Is definitely coded into a channel. I haven't even got the USB loader gx tab mod on my homebrew. Just in the channel which was really handy until it wasn't.

I already had the official USB loader gx forwarder... so that's all sorted now (but without tabs) I'll try that customize mii. I don't need it now but it'll be good to have a fresh look.

I don't suppose there is an updated/supported version of the tab mod for Usbloadergx?

I've just tried Customize mii.

I got it working fist time. Its fairly straight forward.

I downloaded the tab mod version of USBloaderGX Homebrew app (but it is out of date).

Basically I put USBloaderGX official in the apps/USBloaderGX
and the Tabmod one in apps/USBloaderGX2

I used the official forwarder for the official USBloaderGX and the one I made for the tab mod version.

I must say your doing great work with Modmii. Its good to see the Wii is still supported. For me its a must have Machine along with the 3DS and switch.

The reason I say this is you can pretty much emulate any Nintendo system (almost perfectly) using Retroach and R4's etc, using these 3 systems.... in fact you can pretty much emulate any system by any manufacturer before the PlayStation. And for the cost of them now everyone should have one! (all 3 costs less than a new console for a whole historical back catalogue of games).

Thanks for your work!

I know this post is a few years old but I'm not familiar with being able to use cheats on virtual console games. How would I apply your cheats to those?

Load those titles via usbloader gx and u can configure it like any other type of game
Thanks for the info, I'll try to find another way then as I'm having trouble getting usb loader gx to boot, showing the white screen which indicates bad sd card, no matter which sd card I use, and since the games are on USB and the games work on CFG USB Loader I'm guessing GX just doesn't like my 4tb fat32 mbr hard drive even though everything else works with it

I personally use WFL as my main loader although GX and CFG are both still installed. It was a progression for me, CFG>GX>WFL.:)

Does WiiFlow allow you to set a specific games directory, use cheats on nintendont and basically use it as a gamecube loader only? I want to use CFGUSB for my wii games and another loader for gamecube games

Yes. It checks every box and then some! When it comes to emulation and GUI, WFL has no rival.

Ok, you've definitely piqued my interest. I will see if I can use it. Will it allow nintendont to load games from a directory that is not /games/?
Yes. You can adjust GC game(s) path in Settings Page 4 > Path Manager. You basically have the freedom to do whatever you want for just about everything.

If it works out of the box for you, i imagine you will be pleasantly surprised and asking yourself what else can it do.

It works. It is very slow on startup, possibly because I'm using a 4tb fat32 usb hd, but it works. I'm trying out the nand dumping and emulation. I wanted it primarily for Gamecube games and hopefully can have it boot directly to that each time but I'm probably going to want to install some channels.
I am having trouble with covers though. I have files on the drive and have set the directory but it's not loading them. I will have to figure out how to integrate the cheat files for gamecube with this also

https://www.mediafire.com/folder/k7fiuvy99ia1j/WiiFlow_Plugins_Pack_Complete

Here is the link for WFL Plugins Pack and other useful dpwnloads. I have been maintaining the pack and hosting the files for over 3 years now.

If you need help setting it up, post on the WFL plugins thread or PM me.

I'm assuming you are using an SD card for emulation setup and your Hard Drive for Wii and GameCube games correct? Either way, go into WFL Settings page 2/14 and click on Startup Settings to make sure everything is correct according to your set up. Now press Home on Wiimote and click Reload Cache...if your GameCube art.png files are in the correct folder (wiiflow/boxcovers/, WFL should scan then display the art.****Note...the path can be changed if you want WFL and CFG to share the same art.

Obviously WFL and plugins can be ran through SD only or USB only but i recommend SD/USB if you are using many large Wii/GC/PS1/Neo CD/Sega CD, PCE CD games.
