I've just received 5x SSDs from a friend of mine and was wondering if there's anything like a USB HUB but for M.2 SSDs?

I know this is probably a stupid question, but it'd be awesome to have all off them accessible at all times rather than having 5 different enclosures/ swapping them between one enclosure if that makes sense?

Any help appreciated!

You can get dual bay "raid" enclosures like this. But they're expensive and I wouldn't recommend using them in raid mode (jbod is fine for ssds). There may be 4 bay versions if you look around.

Are you using a desktop or laptop? You can get PCI express cards that accept 4 m.2 drives and they're a lot cheaper.

This can handle up to 4, but it doesn't seem they sell it in the UK

Using laptop as I travel a lot for work! Appreciate that, shame it's so expensive. Can it be used just as 2 volumes or does it have to be Raid0?

Maybe it's worth me getting a decent USB3.2 HUB and 4 more enclosures to keep them all plugged in at once in a hidden location or something ahaha!

Do you have any suggestions on a 3.2 HUB? There's so many USB "3" advertised things on amazon and I'm pretty confident they're never 3.X 😂

Yeah that's exactly what I'm looking for! Definitely a shame it's not available in the UK 😔

I'm only really familiar with mechanical hard drive enclosures, but what you need to look out for in the specs is "operating modes", if jbod* is listed (usually at the end) theb you're golden.

*Just a Bunch Of Disks

I'm not sure but maybe look for a "usb c dock". I guess they're usually 3.x but I honestly don't know. You'd need to check the specs.

You *can* get usb docks with a built in M.2 slot. So you could use that + 4 usb enclosures and there you have a 5 disk setup.
