I bought a 'new 3ds' to replace my 'old' 3ds , the new one is in 11.0 U firmware so I'll be able to install custom firmware in it and I'm wondering if I would be able to do a system transfer between the two and be able to pop in the SD card into the new one and have all my games on the new 3ds both legit and custom titles or will it only have the legit titles and I would have to reinstall each custom cia?

Legit games transfer over. Everything else will have to be reinstalled. Please realize you have to have your systems fully updated to transfer.

Besides, you can't just "pop in" the SD Card. The N3DS uses MicroSD Cards, the O3DS uses regular ol' SD Cards.

If you really want to transfer your custom titles, you dump the custom titles yourself with GodMode9, transfer those to your N3DS's MicroSD, then install with FBI.
There are SD to Micro SD adapters - they're basically an SD card that you plug a Micro SD card into.

@Eddypikachu you won't have to reinstall everything. Just backup the tickets from the source console and restore on the target. Or, just run tikShop (if ask your games were gotten from freeShop or CIAngel).

I'm being dumb. He'd still have to redownload all the games after installing the tickets though, right?

Ah. Sorry, I was under the impression that you were using a normal SD on your O3DS.

That goes for titles on the eShop, but I think OP wants to know about things like custom VC injects and Homebrew tools. Though that is an admittedly easier way of going about it than through a System Transfer.
