With the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 less than a week away now, it's time to ask the question: do you have a Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order locked down? With online storefronts crashing and making ordering impossible, or cancelling pre-orders so close to release date, did you manage to secure a console of your own for June 5th? If not, do you plan to attend a midnight launch, or hope that a physical retailer has a handful of units the day of? Or are you on the fence, waiting for your favorite Nintendo franchise to get a new entry before you make the plunge? We're curious to see how many of our GBAtemp users are jumping aboard the hype train at launch, and how many of you plan to boycott, given the negativity surrounding Nintendo's recent controversies.

I don't have a dramatic response, just no. Will I buy one eventually? Yeah probably. My happiness doesn't depend on it though.

I preordered on Best Buy and got their email to review my order, so it looks all good.

Best Buy don't charge the credit card until it is shipped or ready for pickup, so watch out for your credit card via e-mail or text if it get denied due to anti-fraud measure and you will able to confirm that is really you did order.

I bought one for two reasons:

1. I've been pretty bored with the current state of the industry, I miss innovation, we used to have new artstyles, new mechanics or new ways to control games almost every year. I don't think the Switch 2 will be revolucionary or anything close to that, but I'm jumping at any chance of playng something new for a change.

I highly doubt it will happen, but I would love for the Switch 2's Joycons to be popular enough to make an impact on PC, so that gaming mice start coming with gyro and haptic feedback as well and that it becomes widely adopted, so more games could be designed around them.

2. I have a significant collection of Switch 1 games, and many of them run poorly or could run much better. I've been waiting for years for a Switch Pro to play some games, Age of Calamity for example.

Yes, I could emulate, but my free time is short, if I were to play something on the PC I would prefer to invest my time in native games on Steam that run without stutter, graphic glitches or input lag and that I've already bought and haven't had time to play.

The advantage of having these games on the Switch is precisely that I can play away from the PC, anywhere, so I can rest my head after spending the whole day working in front of it.

I'm picking mine up from my local Gamestop in Vancouver. They're having a huge event on the 4th for the midnight launch. I'm not sure if I'm gonna go though. It looks fun, but It'll be way too many sweaty Nintendo nerds there. :creep: Imma pick it up on the 5th instead.

No idea when the second unit is going to be ship however. This one is coming from Nintendo store.

Southeast asia region here, and pre-orders just went up for our retailers, but we have no confirmation on the SRP. My Switch 1 is purely for playing 1st party games, and games which normally have Denuvo on PC that never gets removed (so mostly Sega) nowadays.

With the Tariff nonsense, the system being jacked up $50 for no reason, the key card B.S., the expensive af games... I decided to spend the money I had saved for it on a new GPU for my PC instead. (Replaced a 6GB 1060 SC with a 16GB 5060 Ti)

I pre-ordered it because I'm not taking any chances considering the unstable economic state we're in right now. Plus, I am very curious to see how well certain Switch 1 titles will run on the Switch 2 (like Xenoblade 2 and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity).

Not interested in the Switch 2 until some decent titles are announced.

I regret buying the PS5 in some ways because of the similar situation even if it does serve as a great PS4 Pro-Pro. So I won't be rushing to get a PS6 either. These companies need to get their studios back on track.

no. i dont plan on getting a switch 2 at launch. most likely wont buy one within first year. i own multiple switch 1s and bought a switch 1 on day one release.

nintendo has gotten to criminal with its yakuza tactics that i just cannot support the criminality of nintendo at the moment. when they stop spitting on customers and actually do something good for gaming community i might change my mind.

if i do buy a switch 2 it will be like the wii u where i get it from someone in like brand new condition who bought one because they fell victim to the trendy news pressure that gets is 90% of where the purchases are coming from. weak minded trendy people who are easily peer pressured into thinking if they do something they are cool

i think i might get one post-launch, when the price dies down. hopefully after SOMEONE (this isn't the politics forum, please do not start a politics fight) stops the tariffs, the price will go down. but probably they'll see it as an excuse to drive up the prices even more.

I haven't touched my Switch in months, so there is a genuine possibility that I just won't ever buy a Switch 2. If I do, then it'll be second hand. Nintendo is just such an awful company and there are so many non-Nintendo games I want to play.

Plus hax, I'm in the same boat. My both professional and entertainment target is a new PC that can run Wilds/allow me to stream/rec better than I'm struggling to barely be able to do at the moment, and big N missed that huge opportunity.
