Do thriller games REALLY scare you?

Apparently he had a really scary experience.

I figure this is a joke, cause it's just a game.

Is there anyone out there who can't play those thriller type video games, simply because they're too scary? If so, I understand, but I still laugh at you, lol.

I guess this is a pretty pointless poll, but I'm just curious if anyone out there is capable of not flinching while playing horror games.

I played Doom 3 on PC and it wasn't really scary at all.

Well yeah, you are actively involved with a video game, movies are passive, you just watch them.

I'll admit to not playing many thriller games, but they don't seem to scare me too much. I played three on the DS recently though, so lets see how they affected me:

Resident Evil DS- yeah it's a remake of the most famous horror game of all time. There were some tense moments, but never a true scare for me. I never played the other versions, but from what I've seen, the originals are pretty identical to the DS version. The Gamecube version seems pretty original though. Might wanna try it someday.

Dementium- well, this game was graced with an amazing surreal graphics engine. I never really felt that it looked fake, and felt it conveyed a decent sense of realism (as much as horror goes). But again, it never truly scared me despite having some nice tension in there. The game was way too repetitive and even the tension was gone after traversing the same hall for the 50th time.

Nanashi no Game- here I have to give them credit. I've not made it far due to not really knowing what to do or what is going on. The language barrier was a big deal. BUT, the game is pretty creepy. The first enemy I met kind of freaked me out. And I died to it, unable to escape of defend myself. So kudos for freaking me out Square Enix. NOW GET OFF YOUR ASSES AND TRANSLATE IT!!! THERE'S A HUGE MARKET FOR HORROR IN THE US.

There are two things that i will never forget that scared the hell out of me the first time. Both are from resident evil 2

#1 When the dogs jump thought the windows

#2 When the zombies hands grab through the windows.

#3 well yeah i said two but here is a third. When the licker breaks thought the window in the interrogation room.

well i don't get scared of video games nor do i avod them but at times i jump like things suddenly appear in your face. resident evil 3 was one of them... and i don't like zombie maoning it feels creepy.

hers one of the scariest thing that happened:
'my friends little sister looks exactly like my friend but scarier in a way. i was looking out the window and she was walking up some hill, i didn't know who it was then suddenly she looked, i fell of my chair in school and i was like wtf

I'd have to say no, they don't scare me. Probably because I don't play many due to the fact that they don't interest me or when I do play them, the volume is never really loud or I never play at night or alone (generally a day time gamer)

ehh, I actually found myself laughing out load whilst playing dementium.

I have the same problem with most horror movies, laughing at really inappropriate moments....

DEAD SPACE !!!!

Start on Hard difficulty,play it on PC, in the dark, with headphones and high volume.

It's amazing how immersive that game is.

Yep, Love them it scares me, but I enjoy them, Especially RE2 and 4. Play them in the dark with surround sound, man.. Good times

They do scare me, but that's all part of the fun.


A lot of games try too hard to be scary, and end up just being dull, like Doom 3.

Yep I laugh soemtimes in bad situations, and I often jump a lot.

Playin Dementium on your own, in the dark at 3 in the morning headphones.
The thing I love about that game.... You can't ever know what's going to happen next...and you can't have a torch and a gun out at the same time, you're buggered.

I was so pissed off I just turned it off. The reason they gotz me is because they can climb up the bridge..haxx noobs. But seriously though if you want to play it watch that part or die.

Horror games don't really scare me save for a few Japan only horror shooters but the fact that you kill whatever creature you fear cancels out the fear factor and makes the games fun.

I only avoid the Silent Hill series.
