Hi guys,

My Switch is running well on 8.1.0 and Atmosphere.

I have never updated before, the Switch was on 8.1.0 when I brought it.

I understand that in order to play the latest games ill need to update.

My questions are;

1. How do I go about updating (safely)?, or should I stay on 8.1.0?
2. Is Atmosphere fully compatible with 9.xxx?

The latest atmosphere is supposed to be working with 9.1.0, but I haven't seen anything that specifically needs 9.x.x maybe Pokemon shield might, I'm running 9.0.0 but my system is ipatched, if you look up choidujour it's the safe way to update. Also if you decide to update if you are using a custom theme make sure to remove lockscreen

As of right now there's no game that I know of that absolutely requires 9.X and not all old homebrew work on 9.X so I'd recommend to stay at 8.1...But the choice is yours.
If you do decide to update though, get the latest atmosphere (which is compatible with 9.0.1) and update with choidujournx.

All homebrew does work I'm on 9.0.1, but you'll have to update practically everything as 9.0+ breaks controls on all older homebrew. So when you enter homebrew you can't do anything.

Luigi's Mansion 3 may require 9.0+ it comes out Oct 31.

I agree what he said above. FYI, just be careful when "updating" the game. Some of the newer game updates will require you to be on system firmware 9.0.1 in order to play.

The game was put on the eShop for preload on September 18th, almost 2 weeks before firmware 9.0 came out. It definitely does not require that firmware. And even if there is a Day 1 update that may require firmware 9.0m you can just not install it.

That Dell data breach is worse than people probably realize....

When I worked for Dell we had access to data about military contracts and addresses for high ranking people.

I personally handled a call from the second highest person at Raytheon. That call bothered me a lot... The guy was nice and smart what bothered me was the way management basically just blew him off instead of going the extra mile to help him.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
In the end that call ended up costing Dell millions in lost contracts with Raytheon, and really the issue could have been solved for like 450 bucks lol

sometimes I wonder why anyone would ever buy mega man x legacy collection 2
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I always thought that capcom shuffled the games in these collection, but apparently they are all in chronological order, which makes legacy collection 2 worthless
