ROM Hack Do I need to edit a cia to play online?

Hello folks,
Sorry for the noob question.Been away quite a while and I am having a heck of a time updating myself. I plan to install CIA of pokemon sun/moon. Do I need to do something to the file to make it safe for online play?

No, you don't have to edit anything, it's safe for online play

(this only applies to .cia games installed to the system, NOT .3DS, .3DZ, .CCI ran from a flashcart, etc)

just make sure to not go online early on a game that isn't released yet, but I'm sure you knew that
otherwise, with a .cia, you'll be safe
