weird stuff... i'm at wits end on why this only happened to only one of my friends.I misread and edited my reply, I have a NNID on emunand too.

That's not true.. You can have your NNID linked. DLC is only removed when accessing the eShop, and not other NNID services.how do you avoid this then?

maybe this is the reason. he owns smash bros and bought some of the DLCs. after installing the unofficial DLC for the other characters, he can only access the ones he bought. this hasn't occured to my other friends that don't have smash at all.The only time the eShop deletes my DLC is for games I actually own (such as games on an official cart, or downloaded eShop titles).
Again, not here..DLC is only removed when accessing the eShop
Not true either. I use PokeBank, Miiverse, etc. DLC is never deleted when using those services.Accessing eShop, Pokébank, any DLC Management within games. I don't have Badge Arcade installed, so that must be an exception, not the rule.
Because you're using a flashcart, I meant it for official games.Again, not here..

Edit: Only the eShop deletes your DLC.

Makes sense, your theory sounds right.Because you're using a flashcart, I meant it for official games.
Only other time some of my DLC was deleted was when I updated the game for it. (Smash Bros for example, when I updated that game a few days ago, it deleted my DLC for that game only. Kinda obvious why though.)We have a problem then, because mine always get deleted on those services.
You have some magic there.
did nintendo just magically increase their countermeasures with that new smash update? this is exactly the same game he has an issue with.Only other time some of my DLC was deleted was when I updated the game for it. I don't think so. After I updated Smash Bros (to 1.1.4, the "Bayonetta Update"), I simply downloaded and installed the newer version of the DLC cia (found on that iso site), which includes every DLC released for the game.did nintendo just magically increase their countermeasures with that new smash update? this is exactly the same game he has an issue with.
Not really. eShop always deletes DLC you don't own. You should be able to just reinstall the DLC again via CIA. But you'll lose it every time you visit the eShop.
For games you actually own, or for games you installed via cia?I can go to the eShop and lose nothing. I've never bought any of my DLC and I've visited the eShop many many times.
For games you actually own, or for games you installed via cia?
Yeah, pretty sure DLC isn't removed for CIA games, only official games. From what I've seen on my 3DS.Cia. I also only have a NNID in emuNAND.
after updating, and reinstalling the DLC, the other DLCs are still not present. only the legitimately bought ones appear, sadly.I don't think so. Did you try using BBM yet?after updating, and reinstalling the DLC, the other DLCs are still not present. only the legitimately bought ones appear, sadly.

I use custom themes and they've never been removed. (I use CHMM2 though, not sure if other methods yield different results)Okay, I was just baffled when I read it got deleted, but what about themes, some people claim accessing the eShop removes their custom themes. I don't have that happening either.
