I have recently bought a second PS3 console, and installed CFW on it. When I tried to play a game via disk, the PS3 showed its icon and everything, but gets a black screen when I launch it. Then, I tried a different disk and it worked perfectly. I've tried and tried, and the games just won't work. Multiman fails to create a backup of the games, if that matters.

I even tried playing Simpson's disks, and there is a 50% chance it will work. This is very consistent, and I can never get one disk that works to not work, vice versa.

I have tried the non-working disks on my regular PS3, and it works perfectly.
NOTE:
There is only 2GB left on the console, (120GB, most storage is used) and I do not know if this has anything to do with the disks not working. Sorry if you can't understand what I am saying, I probably should have been more clear... If you want to ask me anything about it, go ahead. Thanks!
My other PS3 is OFW, and I don't know a lot of things about CFW, so if you tell me to change something, could you tell me how...

If the game needs to install data more than the 2GB left it won't work, but it usually will tell you. It sounds like the disc drive is bad.

I've had two CFW PS3's that stopped reading discs and I've heard it's a common problem with CFW PS3's for the disc drive to stop working for some reason.

Maybe, one of the games that work give that error. Would be disappointing if it is a disk error, I'm probably going to return it if there is no solution.

"I have tried the non-working disks on my regular PS3, and it works perfectly." basically answers your own question, it's the disc drive of the CFW PS3.
