Hacking Disk Drive working even though wii is off

Hey guys,
sorry for bothering,
i have a problem:
I found my Disk Drive working, even though the wii was off (stand-by, yellow LED), but only when a disk is inserted.
This problem occured since i installed Softmii 2.0 over my previuously installed Riiski mod (i followed the installment instructions since step 3, like the tutorial says).
Yes, i used the hack remover, even twice, but nevertheless in my preloader menu i had several system menu hacks in a multiple way, that confused me, like "skip disc update" twice, and "remove no copy protection" 8 times.
i have a cyclowiz modchip in my wii, but its not working anymore, so i dont think its important.

can anyone help me ?
should i make my wii a virgin, and deflower it again with softmii 2 right form the beginning ?
but whats the problem here anyway ?

It's a preloader bug.
Updating it to the latest release should fix it.

.28 does fix the standby bug but i have an other question. is it normal that the disc is spinning all the time even if does not access the drive. e.g. when i watch a movie with mplayer ce.

I can clarify that MPlayerCE unmounts DVD after 2minutes from start up, otherwise it could cause problems with DVD playback.
check yourself, system menu should stop the drive spinning as well after some time.

simply disable wii-connect24 and your wii will turn off automatically.

ok but i like some features of connect 24 like some nice Animal Crossing heads and that kind of stuff, also Nights into Dreams works in combination with the weather channel,is there anyway to stop the disc spinning while in 24 mode?

Also got another prob, when I have enough of playing a game, I go back to my system menu, but i installed .28 and the wii just crashes and have to turn it off by hand.... that means I have to stand up from my seat, to reset my wii (2mtrs).

Do you have a solution for that except to remove the power cord, which is behind me?

I also have this problem. I was reading your thread the day you made it, and I was like. Phew. Good thing I don't have that problem. Well. Now I do. D:

When holding down the power button on the Wiimote, to make the Wii go in Standby, the drive is still spinning.

I am also at Preloader .28. Still never fixed the "bug"...

I had the same problem.
I 'fixed' it by chaning the settings in preloader so that my Wii turns off (Red Light) instead of Standby (Yellow/Orange Light).
I don't know what effect that has on WC24 functionality though.

Another option would be to stop using DVDs all together and just use a USB HDD instead.

Just stumbled here because I heard the wii spinning away tonight, even though it was on standby (WC24 enabled)

All that setting does is ignore WC24 and disable it. Hence it doesn't really fix the bug.

Anyone know of a proper fix? ie keeping WC24 on, disk in drive, machine on standby, with NO disk spinning?
