Hmmm. If pressing the home button takes a screenshot, what if someone edits it to continuously take screenshots on a separate background thread? That would make a video recording, wouldn't it?

I think that would also take its toll, at least on O3DS. We're all aware tht taking a video from a 3DS is hard (and expensive) for now, but we should be able to take screenshots first.

Lol. That's true it may take its toll. But man, video recording without a capture card is the dream!

Dude, there are games that take the O3DS to its ultimate limit, recording video would actually FRY IT xD

It takes a lot of power to capture and encode video. On PC it isn't noticeable, but i'm doubtful about even N3DS being able to.

It's expensive because some dumbass thinks a 30$ capture card that records in 240p and lacks sound is worth 300$ PLUS you shipping your console to him.

I've talked to the guy on numerous occasions. Enormous d-bag.

Yup, i'm aware. Even knowing that, because of the final price and the lack of alternatives it is still expensive

why? won't that give Emu's more breathing room to achieve slightly higher FPS's?

That would be proccessing power. To put an example, i recently upgraded from an Athlon X2 7550 (2 cores, 2.5 Ghz) to a FX 4350 (4 cores, 3.8 Ghz) with the same amount of RAM (4 GB)

The improvement has been too great. Now i can move at 60 fps games that barely reached 20 fps, and the RAM is the same. Memory being that relevant is only marketing. It IS relevant, but only to a certain point.

You already have kernel access. What more could you possibly want?

How about a .3ds (or .cia) homebrew browser that can be used to directly run a .3dsx with all the same permissions as Ninjhax and the other -hax so that I don't have to boot up a ROM of Cubic Ninja or something else first? Also, use kernel permission to allow use of 80% of the core on an O3DS.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
