Well, at least one of the CPU's is an ARM. I can't tell what anything else is, but so far, at least the CPU is an ARM.
It also says "IBM" very faintly, right above the letters "CPU," on the IC on the right. I've never heard of IBM fabbing ARM architecture CPUs, so...

...this is probably blasphemy, but maybe it's a very small, custom PowerPC with an ARM coprocessor like what is used on the Wii with Broadway/Starlet.

EDIT: after a closer look, seems like it says "1B44" or something along those lines and NOT IBM. Nintendo is such a tease. It's most likely just one or more ARM CPUs under the hood, pretty much the industry standard for a portable device such as the 3DS.

The Toshiba chip is most definitely NAND and/or DRAM, impossible to tell what model number it is. Not sure what the IC next to the CPU is. There are two of them on the board, one on the top and one on the bottom.

It's gotta' be ARM for backwards compatibility with the DS, guys.

Obviously, but knowing the RAM amounts and Clock Speed of the CPU/GPU wouldnt hurt either.

Clock speed will be impossible to tell even given the numbers on the chip, it's custom fabbed for Nintendo, there aren't going to be any datasheets for it.

Well with the PICA graphics we can. There are multiple variations of it, and if we had numbers we could confirm which one.

If you look at the analog stick, it's the old color. So this is probably an older model.

I still have no idea how he got it...
What, I thought the new ones were grey?

I'm sorry, but I'm not very knowledgeable technology wise, can anyone verify if there is rumble/force feedback based on these pics?

So is this a win or fail? I can't tell since I don't see pics

Too lazy to click the facebook link? Really?...

It's kinda in-between win and fail. Win that we have pics of the inside, fail (for me at least) that they use the same exact el-cheapo analogue stick that the PSP uses.

No, they don't have to run it at the stock rate. For example the PSP's processor has a stock clock of 333mhz, but for the majority of it's life games ran it at 222 to save on battery and heat.

No it isn't...

Anyone else think this has a connection with the 3DS Smuggled out of that factory?
I'd guess so; I don't know if anyone else managed to get one out.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
