Quick questions, am I able to use my physical memory cards with this?

GCReEx format or DiscEx format, which one to use? any advantage, disadvantage?

The audio streaming is this just music but all other audio is working?

GCReEx has slightly faster loading times than DiscEX and is by default smaller than a DiscEX ISO unless it was compressed, it's generally the better format unless you are unable to use it for some reason. It's supposed to have lower compatibility but so far all of my games have worked.

GCReEx = faster loading times, especially under certain circumstances
I use it with every game, just to be sure.

Once you get set up and have everything working, check out DML's force progressive feature, which allows you play in 480p games that did not originally supported it. Also, force widescreen provides a widescreen mode you can try on games that did not originally have it, but this works better on some games than others.

I was just thinking about this, but is there any reason why Multiboot GCOS games wouldn't work on DIOS MIOS to run 2 disc games?

-Memory Cards work fine and all games are compatible but careful with JAP game because some may format your Memory Card!

-I recommend DiskEx format, some said GCReEx format is faster but I never saw any difference in performance myself, can't say it's not there but if it's there it might be small difference, however DiskEx format has better compatibility as all my games are DiskEx format and work perfectly fine, plus you can always just copy the DiskEx file and use it with Dolphin if you want, not sure if that works with GCReEx though!

-Audio streaming is only for few games, in my huge collection here are the games with audio issues:
*Crazy Taxi (No music but voices and SFX work fine)
*Super Monkey Ball (No music but voices and SFX work fine)
*Looney Tunes Back In Action (No music but voices and SFX work fine)
*Namco Museum (No music but voices and SFX work fine)
*Crash The Wrath of Cortex (No music and no voices but SFX work fine)

I will point out though that USB compatibility is still not as stable and has some issues with some brands that go to sleep mode, so if your games can fit an SD you might be better getting the SD version instead!

Edit: A couple of things I forgot, DM doesn't affect playing with original disks but you will no longer be able to play back ups with it, also some games that use two disks still have issues switching between the two but most of them seem to work fine!

Thanks to everyone for the answers, appreciated:)

I finally moved away from WBFS after being a long time hold out, but now I can give usb loading GC games a a go.

Edit

Just one more question, whats the deal with multi disc games, is there some problems there?

Edit

Thanks for the tip, just tested RE2 and 408p makes it look much nicer(widescreen didnt change much for it though, which I think is because my tv is set it to 16:9 and so is the Wii, when it goes to 4:3 for GC games, the TV takes over the scaling the 4:3 image to 16:9 ) When choosing PAL or NTSC are you meant to match it with game or your tv or console?

The disc tray does a lot of blinking, is this normal, can you disable.

It's normal, it checks for a disk to be in the drive (any disk) because some games like Sonic Gems Collection and Spider-Man The Movie still ask for a disk to be inserted, any disk will work as it's just there to fool the console while the data will be read through USB!

I've never seen a Japanese game that automatically formatted a memory card. That "formatting" usually happens to people who cannot read Japanese and simply mash buttons trying to get past the "hey, this game can't read your memory card (because it has non-Japanese data on it)... j'wanna format it so you can save your game?"... I know at least four people this has happened to.
Some people have said it's possible to have US/EU game data on the same memory card with JP game data... I've never encountered this myself and either way, I'd be worried about corruption on the card even if it was possible with some games. Just have two memory cards, at least, one for JP-only, and one for US/EU games. :)

You would set up both your TV and your Wii to output widescreen (16:9). If a game already supports 16:9, you shouldn't use the feature with it. For games that don't, they would normally look stretched in your TV without this feature. With it enabled, DM will render more of the sides of the image to achieve a 16:9 aspect ratio so that the image does not have to be stretched. This works better on some games than others. One typical side-effect is that you see objects at the edge of the screen spawning suddenly because this is programmed to happen off-screen but you are "peeking under the curtain".

How do I swap discs?

Quadforce through sneek+di works with audio , both MKGP's works very well... maybe the *neek setup mentioned is loaded with bootmii as ios and not as boot2.. I tested with bootmii as ios and has some horrible garbled sounds fx and music. Hope Crediar release someday his updated quadforce to be able to play F-zero AX

well my understanding is that it doesnt work at all when using neek2o. and im not sure that ive ever heard of anyone getting it to work with Uneek+di... have you tried using neek2o with quadforce? or uneek? i'd love to figure out what exactly is causing the sound not to work for most people.

and you said when you tested it with bootmii as ios you had garbled sound.. so what did you do to fix that issue?

What I did was to load sneek+di through bootmii as boot2, copied the 00000008.app quadforce in their correct BC directory and thats all.. using uneek+di not worked for me, I need to test with sneek2o and see if both games play with sound too

How do I swap discs?
Actually, you can't.
If it's one of those games that lets you save RIGHT before the disk swap, save, turn it off, and load disk 2 directly.
If it's not, you'll have to use something like swiss, dolphin or devolution that DOES let you swap disks to get your game saved AFTER the disk swap so you can keep playing after that point.

GCReEx 0.3 also lets you extract both disks into the same folder but no one's confirmed if that actually lets you get past the disk swap point or not.

Hmm, thanks! I'm planning to play RE Code Veronica and I think this game let me save right before the disc change as you say...

Damn, I plan on playing RE 0, REmake and RE CV, all multi disc, I can remember if they are save before disc games though.

How do I swap discs?

I'm afraid you can't, however some games like Resident Evil let you save before swapping disks, I haven't tried those since I got RE0, RE1 and RE4 on Wii but I hope it works for RECV, some said it worked, as for games like TMNT2 and TMNT3 if you select a level and get an error message, restart your Wii, load the other disk and select that level and it will work fine, that's how I beat both games, some people reported games like Zelda and Metal Gear not working, dunno about those cause I don't have them, but yeah two disk games still have some issues!

I tested it with a couple of games but it did not work, crashed on me!

Why not just play the Wii versions of RE0 and REmake, with no disc swap worries?

Only reason was because I have original copies of the GC versions.

I believe RE0 lets you save at the end of the disk but either ways since you own them legally worst case scenario you're gonna have to load your last save in disk 1 from the disk, play all the way till disk 2, swap physical disks, play till the first save point, I still think you're better getting the Wii version though!
