Cool. Any idea what's new?
DM has been updated:

Log message

-updated to version 2.3-

*Fixed creating NMM save file folders in FST mode
*Fixed CardFindEntryByName which incorrectly compared file names
*Added a hack for Phantasy Star Online 1&2 version 1.0
*GCLoader improvements that include warning the user if an incorrect
CONFIG_VERSION is used
*Hardcoded the only worthy DVDGetDriveStatus patching, so once again the NODISC
cfg doesn't do anything
*Removed unused code
*Removed unused files

wow and still no disc swapping feature :( thanks though for the update :) I'll update my DIOS MIOS once I get home from work!
Has anyone played through to the disk swapping point on a GCReEx 0.3 format game yet?
I'm still curious if that "extracting both disks into the same folder" thing is any kind of workaround for 2-disk games.

P. S. If anyone has a save file for the Metal Gear Solid game near the disk swap point I'd be happy to try myself.

Woohoo!! Thanks everyone! got it working!
Just a question about memory cards.
I recall vaguely something about gamecube memory cards not being able to hold save files from different regions. Does that still applies here? And if so is there a way to save without a memory card?

PAL games and NTSC-U games can share the same card.
NTSC-J games cannot. Usually they need a different format (because of the different Japanese alphabet.) although some Japanese games don't care.

I see.
Then no problem for me.
Thanks!!

i think im still using dios mios and not dml...am i missing out? is the compatibility greater with dml now?
The compatibility with games should be the same as long as the version number is the same (which they are, both are v2.3 now).

The occasional incompatibility with certain SD cards for DML and certain USB drives for DM is still there, though, and hasn't changed to my knowledge.

Something interesting about "incompatible drives" - I've just realised that my "DM incompatible HDD" has 4kb sectors instead of more common 512b.
May be this is a root of all incompatibilities?
Unfortunately, looking on DM sources I'm unable to find any "hard-coded" sector size, but I'm does not "experienced programmer".

WRONG!!

NTSC-U, PAL, and SOME NTSC-J games can share the same memory card, I only had an issue with ONE NTSC-J game and that is Donkey Konga 3, which formatted my memory card (had to lose my Chao Garden data and Team Sonic from Virtua Striker 3) but the other NTSC-J games I got worked fine and share the same memory card with no issues!

Well okay, I feel a little dumb.
How do you format to FAT32 32K cluster?

I just used Wii Manager to format mine to FAT32 32KB Cluster, it worked fine!

On another note, Crediar just released Dios Mios Lite 2.3!

Can you link me to this "Wii Manager" because I want to format to FAT32-32KB Cluster.

Probably means Wii Backup Manager

That is correct, I meant Wii Backup Manager!

This works great but super mario sunshine takes 9-15 seconds to load whenever i die/stage loads. on a video on youtube when sunshine was used as a demonstration, it only took 3-4 seconds of loading, how do i make it load faster?

That's kinda what I said.

If you're using an SD card (DML) make sure it's formatted with 64k clusters and for USB drives (DM) make sure it's formatted with 32k clusters (smaller cluster size works but bigger is faster. 32k USB and 64k SD is just the biggest it can handle.) also, for games that it's compatible with you can extract the game in FST format (GCReEx format) which will also help it go faster.

EDIT : If the USB / SD is too small to let you have big cluster size with FAT32, FAT16 (FAT) works, too, for 2gb or smaller. (I've seen people report that they've got it working that way on both DM and DML but I haven't tried it myself.)

Are you using DIOS MIOS (USB) or Lite (SD) version?
if you are using SD card, try formating to 64k clusters (if your SD is not big enough, you can only format to 32k, it's fine too).
if you are using USB, format the FAT32 to 32k clusters (not less)
Try DMtoolbox to remove unneeded files, align the files (it's still a useful option?), or you can also extract files instead of using the .iso file.

yea im using a sandisk 2gb sd card for wii(dios mios lite). i don't see any cluster size, only allocation unit size.

next week i'm going to buy a 16gb sandisk usb cruzer, hopefully it's compatible.

allocation unit = cluster

Format it FAT16 and you should have the option of bigger sizes there.
