Am I understanding this right .... game cube games can now be loaded via a HDD ?
yes, or at least soon.
good news everyone crediar has released a video for dios mios usb [yt]jpTOQJ7rJVY[/yt]
for those who apparently missed this and here's the yet empty googlecode page AND this
This was posted roughly 2 hours ago on crediar's twitter account:
There will be a limited DM beta soon for
people who donated anything up until 17th
May.
Stay tuned!

When using the DM Booter with DML installed, don't attempt to load a game from usb... as obviously, you'll get a dsi error.

If it were possible to copy games from HDD to SD with DML installed using DM Booter, then we'd be on to a winner.

I've mentioned it in my previous post, anyway.

I think, you should do one better and have a selection screen for when either choosing to load and copy a game from HDD to SD.

So... instead of just seeing one game, you'd see a list of all the games on either the HDD or SD at once. If it's at all possible. Then move the commands to the top which would always stay static whilst scrolling through the games list shown below.

Trust me, I'll never be using any other loader for either DML/DM again If it becomes possible. Lol

But... it would there, if people choose to stick with DML instead of using DM.

yes, however it doesnt make sense.

store games on hdd. transfer game to sd. delete or transfer game back to hdd.
store games on hdd. play games on hdd.

first option also causes unnecessary wear and tear on the sd card and hard drive.

True,
I guess DML Booter already has the old boot method option so even if you consider DM as just DML v1.5 with no functionality being removed, having reverse compatibility wouldn't be out of place.

Well... when DM gets released, copying from HDD to SD would be a thing of the past anyway.

So... it doesn't really need to be added to DM Booter, as other loaders (like CFG Loader MOD & USB Loader GX) already support the feature.

DM booter has the ability to load directly from SD, too (which is also a feature that other loaders already support) :P

I don't foresee myself actually using that feature once DM comes out but then again, I don't forsee myself moving back to a version of DML old enough to need the "old" boot option in DML Booter.
I think that feature was only in there because it was already in there from before the new boot method came out.

If FIX94 feels it's not worth the effort to add it in, that's fine but I don't see anything wrong with it being added. It might be useful if DM still takes a while to be released.

I love how everybody just assumes all DML users will be switching to DM when it comes out. I for one will be using DML, until I see a compatibility list or something. I may be alone on this, but I think there could be a difference in compatibilty.

I guess there's always the slight possibility of lost compatibility when doing something new like USB loading but I'd assume at least when DM loads from SD it would have the same code and same compatibility as DML loading from SD just like before they removed the Nintendo code from DML there was no question whether retail disk loading would have any compatibility issues since it was still the same old code.

By the way, has anyone found any game that will no longer play from a retail disk with DML v1.x, some game that's never been compatible with DML SD loading, for example?
