nope, both games are retail ntsc, i tried with the composite cables thinking that dml tried to trigger the progressive select screen when Killer 7 does not support it natively(i can force 480p with loader gx because you can set the options before launch it) but same result.

edit: loooool, i left my wii with the "no signal" screen when i posted this and when came back i found paper mario on the screen, then i launched Killer 7 again but without the sd card and voila, Killer 7 booted flawlesly.

I just tried DML 1.4b, loading Disk Channel now loads yet a different game, not even the last one I loaded with DML, I loaded Rayman 3 then tried a disk which is Sonic Adventure 2 and I got DDR Mario Mix O_o I tried it 3 times with the same result!

Also Sonic Gems Collection still has the same issue, requires a disk in order to boot any of the three first games, and my other SD card still freezes at the GCLoader screen, though the first time it gave me a "fatal error" message but now it hangs on the GCLoader screen when loading any GC game despite it working fine on everything else!

Looks like none of the issues I have addressed been fixed, oh well...

delete the "boot.bin" file from your "games" folder in the sd and disc channel will work fine.

supposedly the new dml don't requires that file to launch the desired game, but still read it to retain backward compatibility i suppose??
but that cause this other problem with the fixed disc channel feature.

Worked fine, thanks :)

Reports on NMM v1.4b (tested with Fix94's DML Booter v1.01 Final):
The Simpsons Road Rage (PAL) - "The Memory Card is incompatible with this game" choosing either "Continue without saving to Memory Card in Slot A" or "Retry" resorts to black screen with high pitched whine.
Luigi's Mansion (PAL) - Works perfectly without any problems.
Mario Kart: Double Dash! (PAL) - Saving Time Trial Ghosts turns off Wii console.

Edit: just to ask, is there a loader which allows me to load NGC games from a HDD, copy them to SD and then deletes the chosen game from SD when choosing another from a HDD?

Many loaders do this, I know USB Loader GX and Postloader do for sure.

Is there usually a setting in the different loaders to keep it from creating that file in the first place?

are you using NMM? Edit : Wait, yeah, you said that didn't you.

I don't know about deleting it automatically. I do think, though, that now most of the DML supporting loaders can copy them over. I have heard that some prompt you for deletion at least.

USB Loader GX and PostLoader work fine, dunno about Wiiflow because I don't use it but NeoGamma doesn't!

as i said yesterday i have tested dml 1.4b with my sd card its still a no go since it boots directly the game thats inserted in the wii

we should find a way to make the game force load with the sd card for those who have an incompatible sd card

You are saying you want to force it to read from SD after it failed reading from SD, that makes no sense!

Just a thought:
If the Nintendo code removal was the main change in v1.0 and the Nintendo code doesn't touch the SD card, what happened to break compatibility for those certain cards? I'd assume it'd be simple to fix but that finding the problem would be what would take the work.

Yes, I did say that I had NMM switched on whilst playing this game.

Thanks for the advice and help by the way to those who suggested loaders for load games from HDD and copying them to SD. I'll try that now with CFG Loader MOD v70r32 (beta3).

after multiples tests with all the dml loaders i have a conclusion...
cfg loader: if set to dml "r51-" do create the "boot.bin" file because said version need it, any other setting does not.
loader gx: at least the r1166 don't create the file.
wiiflow: same as loader gx, the last version don't create the file.
dml booter 1.01: if set to "old" create the file, the "new" setting does not.

and if i remember well i booted Paper Mario on the old setting with dml booter just before Killer 7.

During my testing I have noticed that the issue is when booting the main .dol for the game, or so it seems, maybe there's a way to fix this.

Ok, I think there's an option hidden in an INI file for WiiFlow that looks like that. Thanks for the response.

okay so the problem some person have with some sd cards is the way dml loads the main .dol of a game and the removal of nintendo code in dml am i wrong ?
That's what I was curious about because the Nintendo code DIDN'T have any SD code in it so, yeah, it might have more to do with how the new code loads the main DOL and how it uses the DML's SD code ... or ... something.

New NMM logs from v1.4b (once again, tested using Fix94's DML Booter v1.01 Final):
Star Fox Assault (PAL) - freezing and high pitched whine when choosing to create a new save.

More to come...
