I'm not sure about any of these disc read errors, I've yet to run into any of them on any of the revisions I've played around with and I've played some games quite extensively with them (melee I did a classic run, played a lot of Sonic Adventure 2 and my brother 100%'d Ty the Tasmanian Tiger). I haven't used sneek either, I never could manage to get it working back when I first tried.

maybe the error is completely random with no trigger... i mean i went through an hour of luigis mansion with no issue ,and im going through mario party 4 right now without any issues.. only my 1st attempt failed.. ever sicne the 1st play test , dml has run withotu error for me..

certain games get the error certain games dont.. some games that worked fine with r21 get the error like wind waker.

Well...nice that games now run smoothly...but they still manage to give disc errors after some time (somewhere between 1 and 30 minutes). A pity this is pretty hard to reproduce when it's happening, so I can't really give much more info right now.

theres 1 thing that confuses me.. on sneek, it says it only works with 32k clusters.. and dml only works with 64k clusters, so how can both coexist on the same memory card and work?

DML works with other cluster sizes, but it is optimal to use it with 64kb clusters.

Its not ony that...Neek also seems to work with SD cards formatted with a 64KB clustersize...i read reports it worked..
A USB HDD seems to be different, 64KB clustersize seems to be a NO GO here for Neek, only 32KB and lower works, i think it has to do with the hardware access (i am no tech, but it makes sense to me)...because tthe same goes for USB sticks, no 64KB..

what should i put in my wii to use with DML? a dvd? a wii game? a gamecube game? i noticed with a dvd it doesn't spin in system menu? anyone have any opinions what best for the health of the wii

I heard ANY DVD or CD should do...at least it did with the 1st DML version..

The disc errors are seriously getting on my nerves. I might try and give *neek a go, until it's resolved.

After that... at least then, extra supported features (Ocarina/Action Replay codes and NMM) can be added as well, as possibly improving compatibility with certain games that don't work as well like others.

I heard ANY DVD or CD should do...at least it did with the 1st DML version..

I remember hearing that it had to be an original Wii or Gamecube disc... I'm not sure if a backup disc would work. It definitely shouldn't work on newer Wii's that can't read backup discs, but not sure about the older model wii's that can.

I was under the impression it could be any disc even an empty one, What I know DML doesn't check the disc itself, it only needs a disc in the drive to bypass a hardware check. And actually I also think that if you are one of those that happen to have an drive with a broken laser it shouldn't matter either as long as you still can insert and eject a disc. I havn't tested this last part myself but in theory it should work

k, maybe I'm remembering wrong. I've never actually tried personally loading DML yet so I am far from an expert... kind of sad that I've spent a loooot of time adding DML support to ModMii and I've never even tested it out myself yet... but at least I was able to get WiiPower to confirm that ModMii does in fact build it properly . I think I might have to start using ModMii more myself sometime this weekend and try out the new wiiflow, postloader, DML, etc. It's funny that I've fallen behind of my own app, lol.

I know versions 12-21 and 25 work with any DVD, but I couldn't get the others to load period so I can't say about them. The reason a disc needs to be inserted is that it tells the GC game that the lid is closed.

I can confirm that it can be any disc. I have a Wii that has a drive I can not use backup disc in. I put in a random disc (it was part of a pc game install disc set) and it allows me to play games with DML.

Curious thing Disc Error follow present but in resident evil 2 usa work without problem. i use real nand

In my case, I try asterix xxl and work fine with r21 but with r35, I disc error in first level when asterix learn to use the fire.
In fact, I interesting by patch NMM but with this game, I have message error memory card, so I don't save the progression.

If your game works on revision 21 then go back to that until this is fixed in the newer ones.

None of the games I play work (good) on r21.

I'll just wait it off...
