I never said they should post update everytime they translate a word or sentance, do you not know how to read?

You guys seem to think its some impossible task for someone to sit down and estimate how much work they've done during the course of the day. That is a simple thing compared to translating languages, but you're saying it's somehow beyond the capabilities of the people working on this project?
To be fair, I think we're all being a little harsh here, especially to a really fresh guy. Allow me to apologise for my over-aggressive stance, but pardon me and listen, you'll find out why:

I don't mean to pull rank or seniority, but I've been here a long time. I've witnessed the rise and fall of multiple translation projects, some dying dead in its tracks and others becoming huge successes (Jump Ultimate Stars, notably)

It is terribly infuriating on the side of the translation team when hype over a particular project overflows; everyone wants and demands updates, questioning the length of the project. This heavily pressures the translation team and one by one they drop out cause they can't take it anymore. Eventually, the project dies or gets stuck in limbo until another determined translator picks up where the old team left off. Sometimes the cycle repeats, and it's sad to see projects die, get revived and then die again.

Do you know how long the average translation project last? 2 years. If you're lucky. With a span of time like that, you'll start to realise coming back for daily updates is a waste of time. The project will crawl at 0.137% a day on average. In the end, what's the point right?

I think it's certain when I say I know my shit and you don't after spending the last 6 years here.

Also, I find it curious you didn't heed my warning when I told you that if you didn't stay silent, you'd be chastised by everyone again. But hey, we all learn from mistakes.

EDIT: Interestingly, I inadvertently answered your million dollar question. The daily update rate is 0.137% (I expect you know how to work basic math, but if you have problems with how I figured that number out, just ask), so take that as a reference and come back in 2 years. There will be progress.

Well to be honest, I have hopes we might finish this sooner than in two years. But then again I'm realist and don't know which hurdles we might run into yet.
And I've been in enough translation teams and groups to witness exactly what you mentioned. I don't want that the same happens here so I'm doing it my way.

Whether this pleases people or not, to be honest, I don't care. I rather piss off people now, for the sake of finishing something good which will be appreciated by everyone later.
And lol I'm too lazy to count the lines I translated. When I'm in the rush I focus on the translation on nothing else.

And if people read: We HAD a huge update in mind, when the crash happened. I'm sorry it didn't came, but updates will come.

A crash? You didn't have backups made?

For the record, I hope I didn't sound as though I'm expecting this project to be completed in 2 years, with a guy like you and a team like this, it will definitely be done sooner ;)

I really hope know without a doubt that you guys can do this, and progress have been great. Keep up the work guys :grog:

Dude that's not your job scope nor is it for you to know or figure out. Leave the gentlemen to their work. They know what to do, get done and how to handle it ;)

Geez it's like telling a fireman "Bro, that house is on fire! You got a hose or something?"

What I am assuming Romsstar meant by that is they spent a fair amount of time in a single translating session at which point the crash happened leaving them with nothing but the work they had already done meaning they had to start over again. Sorry if I am wrong about that too btw. But in any case progress was made and then frustratingly lost and there's nothing that can be done about that.

No that's perfectly right. One translating session was lost but it was rather big. Nothing prior to that was lost. You got that perfectly right.

I see some people are starting to doubt if this is a real traslation or just troll. Well....

STFU!!!! i have faith in them.
What? They are posposing the release?
well... DUH

For god's sake this game came out just 3 months ago so its impossible to already have a complete translation
In fact it is pretty impressive that they have come this far in such a short time

Postponing? well not really... We never had a release date at all.
For anyone doubting this translation they will be proven wrong. Just give us time.

@[member='Chronoid']: Not sure if you were referring to me or the guy a few pages back. But if the former, just to clarify, I was being sarcastic (in a way. Yea hard to explain but you know what I am getting at) But if you are referring to the other asshat then worry not. I am confident he will never come back. Ever. :)

@Romsstar

Oh, sorry I din't explain myself well.....
I know you have not postponed the release cause there never was a release date but I know plenty of people the thought (Or wanted to think) that the translation would be complete by now. My post was mainly for them.

I know translating a game is not as easy as it sounds as I am studing electronics and automatics engineering degree (So I know lots of programming).
Anyway looks like i got a bit carried away so sorry abot that.

Oh and..... Keep up the good work!!

For any idiot doubting whether our translation is real or not:
This Video has been up since 09.09.2012

So for anyone trashing our translation project: We don't really care but we've proven a long time ago that this is the real deal, even though this was just a test and the Dialogues were only a rough Translation.

(And yeah this link has been here all the time...)
