i have the latest 3.9 firmware but it doesnt work!! AND it deleted all my save files! can someone please help?

When loading it...did you trim the rom or not?
Also...DMA 1x? 4x? Safe Mode?
So many options...and mine still freezes after entering a name.
Lastly...running firmware M3 Perfect v35.
Any ideas?
